Precision Brand Unicoil Stainless Steel Size #15 Hose Bender, 3.6" Length, 5/8" ID

Needed a bender to maintain certain bends in a gas line for my 240Z. Worked like a charm. Don't think it was manufactured for this reason but it worked great. My mechanic was very impressed.

I used two of these to create a custom power steering setup with rubber hoses. I searched my local auto parts store for a hose that would be good for my setup and threw away more than one hose trying to get a good alignment without pinching the hose and reducing flow.Then I discovered this item while reading a forum somewhere. It worked perfectly to "finesse" the hose to the exact shape I needed without pinching. Plus it looks pretty cool in close proximity to my braided stainless high-pressure power steering lines. I will most definitely buy these again for other projects down the road!

I purchased two #12hose benders for the power steering cooler I installed on my 1998 Dodge 2500 diesel. The factory power steering cooler is mounted behind the front crossmember. I used a Derale 13220 cooler on my truck which is larger than the OEM cooler and will not fit behind the crossmember. Therefore I mounted the cooler to the front of the crossmember. Routing the hoses through the crossmember caused them to kink. These hose benders prevented the hoses from kinking.

The product seems fine, Amazon’s description is misleading. As other have noted in their reviews, the description is lacking the most important detail... the ID of this part. It’s unclear that the ID Amazon lists is the ID of the tubing, which is irrevelant. We need the OD of the tubing this goes over or the ID of the spring itself. I’m returning size 15 and ordering size 10, which is designed to go into 5/8” tubing. For that order, amazon advertised guarantee delivery Tuesday August 11th. After I placed the order it said August 17th. Amazon needs to et their act together, but the product itself seems good.

Worked well but expensive

The product works well, but seems a little pricey for what it is, so I can't say it's a great value. However, what bothers me most about this product is that it's labeled, '3/4" ID', so I assumed that the Unicoil itself had an ID of 3/4", which would have worked perfectly with my 1.2" ID silicone tubing. Instead, the Unicoil is well over an inch in ID, but it does fit my 3/4" ID silicone tubing perfectly. So, I guess the unintuitive sizing convention refers to the ID of the tubing it should fit (?). I have uploaded a photo of the 3.4" ID Unicoil next to a ruler.

The size description led to the need to return and do extensive research on the product to get the correct size. The actual product when it was the correct size worked exactly as expected. The most important dimension for the coil is the ID (internal diameter).

The unicoil is a fantastic product for preventing off the shelf fuel hose from kinking on a tight bend. In my case this was perfect for use on a 3/8 fuel hose near the pump on a Ford 460 motorhome. An added benefit is the unicoil also acts as an abrasion guard.

It says to pick a size that has the closest inside diameter to the outside diameter of your hose. My hose had an O.D. of 7/8", so I picked a coil with a 1" I.D. however the coil actually has an I.D. of 1.5" making it almost twice the diameter to the hose. Therefor making it an pricey paper weight!

used it on my snowmobile. took straight hose and made some slight curves. Would only make slight curves.
