I received the package today and my husband and I killed the bags within an hour. They were that good. To give some background, before being plant based, I used to get jerky from a gas station when I was a child and would gnaw on it. They were tough and took a while to chew through them. The black pepper ones were my favorite and these taste almost exactly like it. Texture is just a hair softer but compared to most jerky, this pleather is definitely harder and tougher. I have also been struggling to get in a lot of protein to meet my macros and these just made that super easy. My only wish is that bigger bags were offered or larger packs were offered. And that the ginger sesame had a bit more ginger. That said, I like a good bite to my jerky. This are pretty darn delicious, the ingredients are regular ingredients. No high fructose corn syrup or maltodextrin. These things use real ingredients and taste just like the old rock hard jerky disks from the gas station. I cannot recommend these enough.

I’ve tried soooo many varieties of vegetarian and vegan jerky and this is one of the best ones of them all. For the tough, dry type of jerky (vs the more moist style of jerky) this one is definitely the best. Other kinds of vegan jerky have been wayyy too salty and a weird, spongy kind of consistency (I’m talking about brands like Louisville, Stonewall), or taste good but don’t deliver that tough jerk I’m looking for (for example, primal strips). This one checks well-flavored and mostly great texture. I say “mostly” because there are sometimes pieces that I believe are way too tough for any normal person to chew, rendering the pieces inedible. This certainly hasn’t stopped me from purchasing many, many packs of it, but is a bit annoying given how pricey the product is. Also, I’ve tried every flavor of this brand and I definitely think this is the best one. But it is a bit spicy and the black pepper one a nice tasting (and less spicy) option as well. I wasn’t a fan of the ginger one and wouldn’t recommend it.

I've run the gambit on vegan jerkys and my favorite up to know has been Beyond Beef's Original for both flavor (like real, peppery beef jerky) and texture. This Pleather Red Pepper Bourbon BBQ jerky might just top the Beyond Beef. The flavor is on point with a nice surge of heat from the red pepper and not overly sweet from the BBQ. It is tough, as other reviewers have commented, but 'beef' jerky should be. It's head and shoulders above brands like Louisville, which feel like biting into Styrofoam. highly recommended!!

READ ME, PLEASE! This jerky tastes like punishment and sadness. I've been vegan for over 9 years and have tried many a plant-based product in my journey. This jerky is in the top 10 of the worst vegan products I have every eaten. It is hard as a rock. I have very healthy teeth and I actually feared eating this was going to dislodge my molar. It was flavorless, expensive, and flavorless. Did I mention it was flavorless? You cannot return it, so I'm out seven bucks. Purchase at your own risk. I tried to warn you. That's all I can do.

Yummy, chewy, delicious. Great snack. Wish they were a little cheaper. Best Jerky I've had.

I eat a lot of vegan jerky, for some reason it’s one of the things I miss from eating meat most, although I didn’t really eat it much when I ate meat. This jerky was so spicy I couldn’t even enjoy it. I’m not sure if I got an extra spicy batch but I like spicy/hot food and this was no good. I did enjoy the texture they got on the jerky though. It seems as though all the flavors could have a bit too much spice and they may be doing this to cover up another taste, I’m not sure. This brand just isn’t for me.

I've really been missing gnawing on jerky while I'm working or just feeling peckish, and I just found out last week that vegan jerky is a thing! So I ordered a few, this is the first to arrive. And so glad it did! This is definitely the really tough kind that your jaw gets a workout while gnawing on type. The flavor is pretty spicy for me, it's definitely heavy on the black pepper (which I'm really sensitive to), and those two flavors override the BBQ, bourbon, and red pepper, but all of that is fine because this stuff is nearly everything I was missing! Hopefully they come out with some more flavors... A hickory (without too much pepper) and teriyaki would be awesome!
