VAN ZYVERDEN21407 Flower Bulbs, Red

I bought several of these as gifts for family & friends at Christmas. I was disappointed that no growing medium such as a peat disc was included. When I buy amaryllis kits at the store, they are cheaper and they include a peat disc. So I was assuming the same would be true with these kits. I didn't expect that the recipients would have to go out & purchase potting soil. If you aren't a gardener, most people don't have gardening soil on hand. This should be mentioned in the description. On a good note everyone has said that their plants are growing.

This amaryllis bulb was true to type and produced 2 large, well formed blossoms on a stalk that came up about 8" above the bulb. It was definitely a south african bulb and bloomed about 6 weeks after the bulbwas received and planted.

Six 8 inch flowers from one bulb. Was the centerpiece in our kitchen during Christmas. Still going strong on new years day. Arrived without a big plastic non biodegradable planter. Wish I could pre-order for next year.
