Does this supply 500 watts through the cigarette lighter?

Only technically yes, if your cigarette lighter can deliver 49 amps. The cigarette lighter in our car is powered through the ignition switch and has a 10 amp fuse on it. Those 10 amps at 12.6VDC translates to about 100 Watts at 115 VAC out of the inverter.

How long will it power a modem/router?

It depends on your power Source ... the Battery. But for a modem ... for a Very Very long time indeed : ) I use it to power a mixing board for sound applications and it's Great for several hours using a small emergency battery intended for lights. The word EXIT might come to mind here : )

What is the no load power draw?

If you put the power switch "ON" but don't connect to any electric appliance, the no load power draw is under 10 watts, generally is around 7 watts. This power inverter has under-voltage protection, so you don't need to worry it will drain your battery off.
