As a professional photographer, I experience allergy-induced severe dry eyes during the start of allergy season. This review is for the ointment form of the product. Be sure to select ointment, not drops, at the Amazon product display during purchasing. I have been experiencing dry eye discomfort for the past 2.5 days, while using warm compresses, artificial tears, and taking allergy medication (180 mg fexofenadine HCl after breakfast and 25 mg diphenhydramine HCl after dinner). I previously used Alcon's Genteal ointment for severe dry eyes. While effective, I occasionally experienced minor discomfort, waking up with red eyes and ocular discharge, which dried overnight resulting in crust. Although circumstantial, I believe this has to do with lanolin in the anhydrous form. This is publicly listed in the ingredients section of the Genteal product: 3% mineral oil, 94% white petrolatum, and 3% anhydrous lanolin (inactive ingredient). Compare the active ingredients to Soothe: 20% mineral oil and 80% white petrolatum. Last night, I applied the first dose of Soothe ointment before bed and it was an instant relief! I did not experience any minor sting or wake up feeling normal. As I write this review in the following morning after first application, I reapplied the ointment after washing my face and using a warm compress. My vision has cleared up from the temporary blurriness, which is normal when applying an ointment to the corneal surface! I can use this product during the day and continue culling my images in Capture One Pro and finalizing them in Adobe Photoshop CC! My workday can return to normal without severe dry eye symptoms! Highly recommended.

I use this every night and I can’t go a day without it. I have super dry eyes and this helps keep my eyes from drying out overnight.

I have had to use eye ointment for almost years now in one eye that doesn't blink and only closes with help from my eye lid weight 😔. I have been using a different brand but wasn't happy with the effect, I had to apply more several times a day, it had 3% mineral oil, this product has 20% mineral oil this is a major difference, I will never use the other one again. This is not sticky, lasts all day without irritation, can't say enough of how it has changed my life for the first time I don't want to poke my 👁️ out ❤️ Thank you

Works well, better pricing than competitors with same active ingredients

I have dry eyes due to allergies and allergy medicine. I wanted to try and wear contacts again but couldn’t stand having them in more than maybe an hour. Got this to try and combat the dry eyes and it has really helped. It’s been a couple weeks using this, and it’s not completely solved but I can wear my contacts again for hours without issue. I use this at night, and I reapply a small amount in the morning so after breakfast and getting my kids ready when I wash up and put my contacts in have no issues. I did have some stinging but I believe that’s more from soap left on my hand than then the product After I place it in my eye I kept my lid pulled down and move my eye around to get it everywhere.

I purchase this because I have dry ice syndrome. The size of the bottle is like, really good. It can last you a long time. The liquid in the bottle is white or like cloudy, which does not bother me. Is really gentle on your eye. It does not cause any kind of irritation, it does work. I use it at night and when I wake up in the morning, I don't have any irritation. I will definitely buy this product again.

I'm giving it only 3 stars. I'm sure it works to keep my eyes moist at night. But if you put it in, don't plan on being able to see for many hours afterward. The goopiness and film it leaves on my eyes was just too much. The next morning, I could still feel a film in my eyes. I had to rinse with water to try and clear it. There was still goop on my lower lids and upper eyelashes the next day, 16 hours later. Use it if you must, though. But don't plan on going anywhere or driving.

This product is amazing for my daughter who suffers from dry eyes .
