Great winter traveling companion
I’ve been using the Mistaire for the past three weeks. I happened upon this little device while searching for a solution for my throat and nose while sleeping during the winter months. I travel a lot and needed something small and very portable. I found the Mistaire to be as described and works well. The first night I set it up and checked my hygrometer, which only goes down to 20%, and it was showing 20%. The next morning I woke up to check the hygrometer and... It was showing 20%. This will not create a tropical rainforest. This is more of a close and person device. It does put out a good amount of cool mist vapor. Sitting next to the bed and facing toward me, I would say I have experienced about 75% improvement with my sinuses while sleeping. That makes it a great product for me. Using a 16.9 fl oz bottle it last 8 plus hours on low setting and around 4 or 5 hours on highest setting. There are two things to be aware of. First is the bubbling sound of the water. On the lowest setting it’s very quiet. As the setting goes up the bubbling sound of water increases. For some this sound can be soothing, for some it can be annoying, and some may have to make extra trips to the bathroom. The second is the mood light. This little light can create different moods depending on the person. If you want a very dark room, you may not like the mood this light creates. It’s bright and can’t be turned off. This is not a problem for me as I have it sitting about a foot higher than the bed. If I wake during the night, I can easily see how much water is in the bottle and see to make my way to the bathroom and back.

Second Purchase. & Updates
**Update after use; I had to update my review since I got sick of the product's poor finish. After the second purchase, even within weeks I've used it (I stored it in a safe, protected place right after I bought it; took a break from school and started using it after I got back to school this Fall), I started to spill all over the place again. With the previous one, I assumed it was from the drop, but for this one, it never even gotten any considerable shock, not even a mild one, let alone a drop, and I always kept it on a flat surface; and it still started to spill from places I couldn't even pinpoint and ultimately I had to throw it away. For two consecutive frustrating uses, this is the worst. After dropping it on the floor by accident, it totally broke beyond any repair I could do by myself. Without any time to get the repair via sending the product back and forth, I just bought a new one. After using the previous one for several months, it's definitely a worthwhile product. Light, easy to use, fairly easy to clean, and great performance. The light weight probably made it vulnerable to accidental drops which could easily happen any day. Other than its disappointing durability, all other aspects are great.

Excellent travel humidifier
If you understand what you are getting and temper expectations accordingly, this is an excellent travel humidifier. It's not going to make your hotel room feel like a tropical rainforest but, stick it next to your bed at night and it will help relieve that super dried out feeling you can get from hotel heaters. And it's super compact so easily stashed in your carry on luggage. Put a washcloth under the unit to keep moisture off the nightstand. And I'd advise using a small piece of black electrical tape to cover the blue LED light in the bottom of the water well. As is, the light is way too bright of a night light in a dark room - at least in my opinion. For some reason the manufacturer hasn't provided a way to turn it off. The tape might not kill the light entirely but, it will dim it enough to make it less bothersome. The manual says use up to a 16 oz plastic water bottle for the water reservoir but, I've been using a 33.8 oz Smart Water bottle with no issues. As long as you extend the two stability feet on one end of the unit it's pretty stable. The larger water bottle will provide enough run time to get through most of the night before needing to be refilled . Then It only takes a minute to refill during a bathroom trip when you do run dry. I haven't had the unit long enough to comment on durability but, if it'll hold up up to being lugged around the country I'll be very pleased with the purchase. The use of a common water bottle, which can be brought along on a trip empty or purchased at your destination, as the water reservoir makes this the most compact travel humidifier out there. Keep it close to your bed and you'll have a little oasis in your desert of a hotel room.

Nightlight
This is a great little humidifier. The issue with this humidifier is you can’t turn the bright blue light off. Could be a nice little night light for someone who appreciates a light while sleeping.

Kept the air moist in Palm Desert
One of the ways I fight snoring is to sleep with a vaporizer running. It's not a complete solution but for the cost & ease of use, it's pretty effective. This nifty device lets me sleep with moist air when traveling. Having read all the reviews about leaks, I set it on a plate. It delivered moisture as expected without any issues. It doesn't make much noise. No leaks at all. Yes, it's brighter than I'd like, but I can wear a sleep mask if the light bothers me. Highly recommend.

Disappointed
This seemed like a good little travel humidifier and when it works, it’s great. There seems to be a bad connection with the plug and it often stops working then starts again when I jiggle the plug connection to the unit. Annoying. If it keeps up I’ll probably throw it out and buy something else. Disappointed.

Great for those with limited space or mobility
My wife quickly needed a new humidifier when we lost a part for our existing humidifier, to relieve cold symptoms. Problem is that she only walks with a cane, so can't handle lifting and refilling most humidifiers. In fact, of the top 100 listed by Amazon, this appears to be the only one she can easily handle. Better, it uses the same bottles of distilled water she uses in her CPAP machine, and takes up almost no added space in our small home. Arriving in less than a day, it is working well for her, and was very easy to set up. Yes, it won't work for 24 hours like other humidifiers, but there is already a humidifier in her CPAP for night time, so no problem. Highly recommended for those with limited space and/or mobility.

After my 2nd unit, I’m done . . .
A gal at work has one on her desktop. I immediately fell in love with the simple design....water bottle fed, which takes advantage of gravity. But it’s overpriced...for a Southern California based company, I expect quality. Both units started out strong - steaming away like The Little Engine That Could - but the 1st unit stopped working after 45 minutes & the 2nd unit works sporadically. The light worked on both units & the water bubbled, but without steam it’s useless. The 2nd unit is also leaking. Also, it’s been over a week since I returned the 1st unit through Kohl’s return....Amazon has yet to refund me, normally the refund is credited immediately. Kohl’s now has possession. of the 2nd item. I’ve found no way to track these. I’m very disappointed! On a positive note: the product doesn’t emit a foul, plastic-chemical smell that won’t go away, as the Crane products have. Also, the bright light doesn’t bother me, as I sleep with my eyes closed =)

A Must-Have for Frequent Travelers and Dry Hotel Rooms
I travel quite a bit for work and regularly find myself flying from Toronto to places like Las Vegas and Phoenix. As much as I enjoy the sunshine, there's one thing those trips always have in common: hotel rooms so dry they seem capable of removing moisture from objects that weren't even wet to begin with. That's where this little humidifier comes in. It's compact enough to throw into a carry-on or laptop bag, takes up very little space, and has become a permanent part of my travel kit. One of my favourite features is that it works with a standard plastic water bottle. I usually use one of the complimentary bottles most hotels provide, and that gives me enough water to run through the night without having to constantly refill it. The difference it makes is noticeable. I wake up feeling far less dried out, especially after multiple nights in desert climates or heavily air-conditioned hotel rooms. It's simple to use, lightweight, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. For frequent travellers, that's really all you can ask for. My only minor nitpick is the blue indicator light. It's always on. If you like having a built-in night light, you're all set. If you prefer complete darkness, you may find yourself getting creative with a towel, a pillow, or constructing a small privacy shelter around it like it's entering witness protection. That tiny quirk aside, this has become one of those travel items I never leave home without. Easy 5 stars.

Incredible value for size and cost
This packs incredible value for the size and cost. I’ll likely use it at home as well. The attachment for the water bottle has two different sizes on the one piece so no additional attachments to keep track of. The little clear piece that flips up to turn on does need to be supported for a moment until the mist builds up to hold it in place The led light is inside the reservoir. I will be purchasing some dark nail polish to see if I can dim that down. When I filled the reservoir and refilled the bottle, it lasted a solid 8 hours on medium high. I was impressed. In the hotel which was very dry, I ran it on high for a couple hours before bed then refilled and turned it down a little. My husband was blown away by how good he felt in the morning. His nasal passages were not dry at all. I have sinus rhinitis and am also recovering from influenza on our trip. It’s been a few weeks but my lungs are still struggling. I would not have survived without this. Highly recommend. Responses to other comments I’ve read: It leaks: not unless you got the bottom wet and didn’t dry it. It’s tippy/ not secure: not at all. The bottle drops in nicely and the unit has stabilizing feet as you can see in my video. Open those before you put the water in and you’ll be fine unless your arms flail in the night. The miss blows too high: when I had it set on the setting I wanted, I turned off the light and used my flashlight to light the mist. I moved it back ever so slightly and ensured it was pointed at my pillow. It dropped perfectly on my face while still making a difference for my husband. The light is bright: yes. As I mentioned, I’ll try to cover it with dark nail polish as the light is inside the water reservoir.

Very handy
Works surprisingly well, I use it with a 2 litre pop bottle, and does not need a lot of space.Im very pleased,

Leaks after less than 2 months
Didn't even last 2 months and this thing is leaking everywhere. There is a very bright LED in the reservoir for some reason, it lights up the whole ceiling at night. Why does a humidifier need a light? Don't waste your money on this garbage.

Works very well and is easy to refill.
This is a wonderful product. It is small and easy to use. No complications at all. The blue light doesn't bother me. I was concerned that it would be another product that would end up in storage somewhere but this is something I will use when it is dry in the bedroom. I highly recommend this product.
