This is a update to the original review. I still love these tumblers. I have two, One from my daughter as a gift and I purchased one as well. The one I purchased had a problem with the handle slipping constantly. I wrote the sellers to see if I could purchase a new handle but was informed they don't sell parts. They did however tell me that they have either defective or returned units in the Amazon Warehouse. They are sending three tumbler kits. They assure me that out of the three kits they are sending at least one of the handles should work. They tell me to take all the parts I want from these three kits. I hope there is a non defective tumbler. I can always use a new one. KUDOS to MalloMe for the solution. I think I must have told twenty people about these tumbler kits and I know six have purchased them. A suggestion. These tumblers would look great in red, blue, purple and other colors. My assistant would like one in white. Thank MalloMe I received this mug in silver for Christmas. When the person who gave it to me asked what I wanted for the holiday I honestly couldn’t think of a thing. I’m not a wealthy person but I really have everything I need. I started going through Amazon trying to get ideas and came across this. I put in my wish list and continued shopping looking for something I could actually use. Then I began thinking about the mug. I take medicine that makes my mouth desert dry so I always have a small jug of water close by. The water is actually kept in Gatorade bottles in the refrigerator as I prefer my water cold and I refuse to buy water in little fragile plastic bottles. Well the water stays cold all of a few minutes then comes to room temperature. So having a jug which could keep the water cold especially during the night and the fact I wouldn’t have to pay for it became my gift suggestion. Not knowing if the mug was available at retail brick and mortar stores or online stores I did a bit of Google searching and couldn’t find it anywhere except Amazon. I called the gift giver with my suggestion hoping she had a Amazon account and luckily she was a Prime member. The mug showed up at my door a couple of days later but it sat on the table unopened and waiting for Christmas morning. She had it gift wrapped and the wrap was a beautiful cloth bag tied up with a ribbon. Taking it out of the bag I found it boxed nicely and without a lot of interior protective crap. Thank you MalloMe. So enough with the introduction on my Christmas gift and on to the mug acessment. Most companies in their advertisements and descriptions use a lot of puffing so I wasn’t expecting the mug to hold up to half of the advertising boasting. The first time I used it was for a water jug on the night stand. I prepared it with four ice cubes and water from the refrigerator. I wasn’t quite sure whether to use the steel straw or the sipping lid. Decisions decisions. I ended up using the straw and found the straw can be used with both lids. I actually don’t know the name of the lid I chose but there was a hole in the middle of it. The lid fits really snug and so I wasn’t worried that I would get drenched the first time I used it. A thing I noticed was there wasn’t any clinging of the ice against the metal. It’s sound proof. The handle is really convenient but a bit tricky the first time. I found you have to use a bit of pressure to push the handle up the side of the mug until it becomes tight enough. Once it’s tight it is great. Stuck the straw in the mug, went to the bedroom and placed it on my night stand. Not knowing if it was going to sweat I placed it on a water absorbing stone. I watched a few hours of TV while surfing the web on my iPad and had a few sips of water. Now it became apparent that I didn’t have the right lid or I was using the lid I had on the mug wrong. It’s not great sucking water from a steel straw when it’s stuck in the middle of a lid and constantly wiggling. I’ll have to figure which lid is best. Now the suggestion I mentioned in the title. It in my opinion be better if you could replace the metal straw with one made of something softer. The metal straw clinking against my teeth just isn’t right. I know the majority of the time the mug will be used without the straw but give us sippers something softer. So I finially settled in under the covers and drifed off to sleep. I’m sixty nine years old so I’m up at least two times a night usually three or four. Each time I was up I took a few sips of water. It had been at least seven hours when I set up the mug and the water was ice cold. A good eight hours of sleep minus the trips to the bathroom and I woke with cotton mouth. Grabbed the mug, took a good sip of water and still ice cold. Hey that’s great I said to myself. I turned the TV on and dialed in my two favorite news shows and watched them for at least an hour. Time to take my medicine so I can stay alive another day. The water was still cold. Took my shower and when finished took a few more sip and yes you guessed it the water still ice cold. Another hour or so of Morning Joe and New Day on CNN and a few sips of water and still cold but now with a empty mug. Put the mug on the kitchen counter for cleaning later and did my daily routine. I don’t eat lunch and worked, I’m actually retired but still believe I’m in the office, through it until dinner time. That night was leftover Christmas dinner which was doggy bagged and now reheated in the microwave. Took an hour to enjoy dinner and time to do dishes. I did the mug last and at the bottom of the mug four ice cubes just about to turn into it’s original H2O. Total time from putting the ice cubes and water to washing twenty two hours. So if left alone a bit longer the ice as advertised would have lasted twenty four hours. I’m really impressed. So impressed that today after completing the review I’m ordering a second one in black. I really have no need for a second mug but I’m so impressed with it I want another one. Now on to a hot beverage test. I love having coffee next to me at the computer but hate getting up to get refills. Now maybe I can have hot coffee next yo me and won’t have to interrupt what I’m doing. I’m totally in love with this. I write a lot of review lhere and I think I’ve given five stars maybe about three or four times. Amazon and I have been doing business for close to twenty years now so I’ve written many many reviews. To give a five star review the item has to be very special.

To start the review I can say I came from owning a Yeti 30oz tumbler so I can honestly compare this product to it. Unfortunately my Yeti tumbler was stolen so I needed to replace my tumbler and I loved the Yeti, however I did not like the $38 price tag of the Yeti. I found this as an alternative and at half the price it seemed like a good deal. I ordered 2 of them, one for home and one for work. I have used them in both places and I can say they work just as well as my Yeti tumbler did. The construction is solid and seems on par with the Yeti the materials are robust and the stainless seems to be of the same quality, the stainless has little to no magnetic properties indicating that there are a lot of other alloys in the steel to prevent rust. The lids appear to be made of the same plastic as the Yeti and the little rubber gaskets that hold the lid in the cup are of the same design, though they feel a little bit firmer than than the one that was on my Yeti, but I don't think this makes a difference. From owning the Yeti,I can say that sometimes to get a good seal you need the give the lid some down force and a little twist to really seat it and straighten out the gasket in the tumbler and I suspect these will require similar technique to get the seal to really seat well. I have not used the hot beverage lid, but it is a hard plastic sliding door, it looks well made and very sturdy. The stainless steel straw is nice and heavy duty too, but its not any thicker in diameter than a regular straw. It even has a brush to scrub the straw out. Overall this is a great tumbler that is definitely comparable to the "Leading Brand" at half the price and has way more features. The "Con": I really like this tumbler and I would buy it all over again, however there is one design issue I have discovered, it happened on both my tumblers inside a week of ownership so I know its not a fluke. The cold drink lid, which is really cool by the way has a flaw, the opening for the straw has a rubber gasket with a little rubber plug so you can seal it up which is a cool idea but unfortunately the gasket/plug falls out completely, I have attached photos to show what I am talking about, I have reached out to the company about this with a couple suggestions to address this issue, we will see if they respond or not. Even with this flaw in the lid, you still get all the quality at half the price so i am not complaining. UPDATE: MalloMe is a 5 star company, they took measures to compensate me and I wasn't even looking for compensation. They truly want to address customer concerns. If they keep this attitude, they will wind up with the best products on the market. They truly listen to their customers. I would shop them again on their business ethics alone. Two thumbs up!

I use Zojirushi and Contigo thermoses for my coffee and other hot liquids, but I needed an extra large mug for my morning smoothies. I looked at Yeti mugs, but they seemed a bit overpriced and didn't include the straw. The MalloMe is big enough to fit a good sized smoothie that I use the Nutribullet for. Definitely keeps it cold throughout my drive to work, and the hour+ it sometimes takes me to finish it. I also use it for hot drinks, and it does a very good job retaining the heat if you have the cover on. If you don't, it's a very wide mouth which will have a fast heat dissipation, but this is not the container I'm using to keep my drinks hot for 6+ hours (that'd be the Zojirushi). The wide mouth also means easier cleaning. The included metal straw is a nice bonus, though it's a bit small for a smoothie. Still works, but I wish it was a bit wider. The two included lids (1 sliding opening, 1 snaps open with a straw-hole in the middle) are also perfectly adequate, and form a nice seal, but this isn't exactly made to be tossed in a gym bag and expect it to be leakproof. The included mug handle is super nice for carrying around a very wide cup like this, which still fits in my car's cupholder. All for quite a bit cheaper than Yeti mugs.

My AMAZON RATINGS Nice Mug, Keeps fluids Hot or Cold - But: ? Product as described: BUT: ? This is a nice Mug, Keeps fluids Hot or Cold, the handle has a good feel and grip, Handle has Rubber ring which keeps it from slipping and the flip cap does Not leak. However I was a little disappointed with the flip lid and slide lid. 1) The flip lid is not good for drinking thick shakes, the shakes will not flow out, the shake will only drip out in drops. 2) Second the slid lid although works better for the shakes, the sliding lid gets shake / drink stuck under the slide lid, and it is hard to clean out, some shake will be left behind (see Pics) I see this as a problem which will get contaminated. 3) the Stainless Steel Straw if a plus, if you like drinking out of straws. The straw got very cold whole drinking my shakes and was easy to clean out, the shape of the straw is perfect for drinking out of, you will like drinking out of this straw. All and All this is a Very Nice and well made Mug, better than most I have purchased on Amazon, I am using it daily and like the mug, I just do not use the slid lid for my daily protein shakes, instead I use the slid lid for my coffee. I do not use the flip lid because it touches your nose and gets drink on it, the flip lid and handle was the reason I purchased this mug in the first place. Go figure LOL (See My Pics) Pros: + product as described + photo as Shown + Good quality + Handle has a good feel to it + Handle has Rubber ring which keeps it from slipping + The flip cap does Not leak + Nice Stainless Steel Straw + the shape of the straw is perfect for drinking Cons: - The Flip lid is not good for drinking thick shakes - The 2nd the sliding lid gets drink stuck under it, hard to clean out, shake will be left behind (see Pics) - Flip lid stand high when open and will touch your nose getting drink on it -- How I rate – 5 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, is a good value at the price point purchased, would buy again or recommend to a friend. 4 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product, might have a minor flaw. 3 Stars: Generally works but it may not be a good value at the price point or might like to see changes / improvements. 2 Stars: Barely works but can be made useful if you try. 1 Star: Useless, does not perform its intended function whatsoever and is generally a waste of money, sending it back. My morning coffee generally peters out around lunch time. After that, I generally switch over to water. I have a couple of go-to insulated mugs which have been my water vessels of choice for years. One, in particular, is an old (90's) 32 oz. Mini Mart mug. It has followed me around to several corners of the globe while I was in the Marine Corps. My wife & daughters have made it a habit of stealing my mug for its icy contents. Because of this, I went looking for mug for the remorseless water thieves to share. I kept eyeing the Yeti tumblers, but the sticker price kept me away. The lightning deal for the MalloMe tumbler caught my attention one day, and I took a look through the previous customer reviews. The reviews and lightning deal pricing were what prompted me to make the purchase. Initially, I gave the tumbler to my wife. She used it a few times, but it often went discarded & neglected on one table or another in the house. And, every night, the water thieves would come out like hyenas stalking their prey on the Serengeti (or is it the Savanna?), just waiting for my attention to waiver so that they could pounce on my unexpectedly vulnerable water mug. A few weeks after purchasing the MalloMe tumbler, I found that my mug was in the dishwasher which had not been started. Normally, I would have just hand washed it, but on that day, I decided to use my wife's tumbler. The first thing that I noticed is that there was still a significant amount of ice at my first refill. I would guess that just shy of half of the ice was still there on my second refill. I was definitely impressed. At around 10:30PM, I topped it off with a little bit of water before heading towards bed. I could, in fact, still hear ice rattling around inside of it when I took my pills around 7AM the next morning. Now, my Old Faithful of water mugs could do this, but only if it was mostly ice before heading to bed. As I knew that I had started with something closer to 30% ice/70% water ratio, I was a bit surprised. Around 2PM that afternoon, I grabbed the tumbler to refill it before going to pick up the two younger water thieves from school. I was shocked to find that there were still a couple slivers of ice floating around inside. My wife has officially lost her tumbler. Like any true man, I looked her in the eyes & blurted out "Dibs!" in an authoritative tone. She lost her tumbler that day, and my faithful mug was relinquished to the limbo that is the top of the refrigerator. And the water thieves? They are still out there prowling...just waiting for me to turn my back so that they can steal a few hasty gulps of icy, refreshing water. They think that pilfered water is more refreshing, but I have found that a pilfered tumbler makes the water more refreshing.

I wanted a stainless steel cup, as I've had them before (they were destroyed) and loved them, but I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money (a lot of the more expensive brands only come with the cup and a cheap lid. These same companies make you buy the better lid and any other accessories you want included. You see, I NEED my water to be freezing cold in order to drink it. I just happened to come across this one from MalloMe and although I loved the price and all the accessories it comes with, I was skeptical it wouldn't be as good of quality as my last one. MalloMe had rave reviews and since it wasn't that expensive, I decided to go for it. It arrived within 24 hours (I love Prime) and I was astounded at quality of not only the cup, but the accessories as well. The cup comes with 2 different lids (one for cold and one for hot beverages). It also comes with a stainless steel straw, a straw cleaner, and a handle for the cup that you can FINALLY use in the car (with the handle in place, it's supposed to fit in the cup holders of your car) and there's no chance of the cup slipping out of your hand. I Cleaned it up and took it to work with me the following day. Well, I can confirm that this cup works just as well as the more expensive ones!! It kept my ice intact (without the need to refill the ice or refrigerate) for over 24 hours. The straw, which I never thought to buy, is awesome!! And one of the best perks, I don't have to keep my cup snugly in a corner of my car, the handle makes it a perfect fit for your car cup holders!!!! I cannot believe how PERFECT and WONDERFUL this MalloMe set is. You just cannot beat the price and quality of this product. Thank you so much, MalloMe, for making such an affordable and well made product!!! I will DEFINITELY be buying more products from you!!

I use thermal mugs a lot and had one of this size where the lid didn't screw down, so after a bit of use with hot items, the seal wasn't as tight and it leaked. So I bought this and have now used it twice. The mug itself is great. It does what it is advertised to do ... keeps hot things hot and cold things cold. I really liked the feature where the lids would screw on because I thought that would prevent the leakage, especially with hot liquids. And it does ... as long as you can get the lid on right. Here's the problem ... I have used the mug twice and BOTH TIMES have had extreme difficulty in getting the lid to settle into the grooves and tighten properly. You should be able to place the lid on the tumbler, make sure it is straight before twisting, and when twisting it should grab the grooves and seal tight. With this lid, I do the same thing I do with ALL other screw-on lids, and no matter how straight I get it before starting, it goes cattywampus and then gets stuck. Trying to get it unstuck takes a great deal of patience and strength because once it hits that point, you're screwed, but the lid is not. And let me tell you, trying to get the lid unstuck with hot liquid inside the mug without having it spill out and burn you is a feat. Once you do get it on right, it is wonderful, but as I type this the lid is still stuck where no matter how I try to sip from the mug it will spill. Good thing they send a straw with it because I'm going to have to drain the liquid and then see whether I can get the lid off. Otherwise I'll have to break the lid, which is ridiculous.

The Bearclaw vacuum stainless 30oz tumbler arrived one day earlier than stated, which surprised me. As soon as I unpacked it, I washed it, filled it with ice cubes and cold water from my Brita pitcher. This was at around 1:00 pm. It's now almost 10:00 pm and after refilling it with cold water several times, it still contains my original ice, although only about half the volume of ice. The water is " ice cold" still after almost 9 hours. Reviews stated that the ice will last for 24 hours and I have to say that if I had not kept adding fresh water, the ice would not have eroded away with active use. I purchased this tumbler for my bedside use. I sleep with a CPAP machine (I'm an old man - 71) and the CPAP quickly dries out my mouth. Having cold, or ice water easily at hand at night will greatly improve my sleep experience. I seldom sleep longer than 2-3 hours at a time, so the Bearclaw Tumbler will easily fill the bill. I highly recommend this tumbler, but with active use, I wouldn't expect ice to last much longer than 10-12 hours at a stretch. For me, that's more than enough. UPDATE: This insulated mug is awesome! I've had it for a few weeks and I use it EVERY DAY loaded with ice cubes and water. During these past few weeks, the outside temps have been in the low 90s through the low 100s. Inside my crappy little apartment, it stays a frosty 80-85 degrees f. My water stays cold and at the end of a 24 hour period, I STILL have ice. It's melted down quite a bit, but it's still ice! I'm very impressed with the Bearclaw insulated mug. I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm certain that it will keep hot beverages hot for hours as well. Give it a shot!

The handle wont stay on the cup. It is too small so cannot jamb on the cup & falls off when you place the cup down. I gave up quickly and now its just a tumbler not a cup.
