If I wanted to hook this CB up to the cigarette lighter socket, what kind of cord do I need to purchase?

The CB has two wires built in so all you would need is a cigarette lighter socket adapter and wire it up. The wires are about 4' long so you should have no problems where you mount it. The wiring is very easy - that's the set up I have so I can unplug and remove the CB when I'm just driving around locally.

Is the PA loud? Can you adjust the PA volume? Can you give me an idea of how loud it is?

Yes it is, but you have to obviously flip the switch to PA, turn the volume to max, turn the squelch to max(so any CB transmissions do not go to the speaker), then key up the mic. It's pretty loud if you do the above. I just used a cheap Pyle PA speaker. It works well mounted inside the driver side bumper with bell facing down. Mounted in a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ.

What is the size of this unit... Amazon shows 4.5 x 6.8 x 1.4 inches but Uniden shows 12 W x 6 H x 4 D

Counting the control knobs and connectors, the unit is 4 1/2" W x 7 1/2" L x 1 3/8" H.

There is a metal tag on the back of the radio that says "Made in Vietnam".
