First, when it is time to give the supplement to your dog, pop it into the microwave for 7 seconds. Watch your microwave - you may need to adjust the time. The last thing you want to do is burn it. I don't blame her. *by K***E on January 14, 2022* Our 12 year old mixed breed dog has slightly elevated liver enzyme numbers. The Denamarin is very pricey, so, I thought I would start with these. Unfortunately, my dog chewed on one for a second, dropped it out of her mouth and now cannot be cajoled into eating any more. All the comments regarding the smell are accurate. It's like...old fish and gasoline. I wouldn't eat these either. Not exactly a deal breaker for me, but, I am also not at all shocked that the dog wouldn't go for them. I was hoping I might be able to mash these into a powder to give them to the dog, but, they are too hard. Honestly, they are so hard they are tough to break up into manageable pieces to put in pill pockets. They are about an inch and a half long and an inch tall, so, don't think you're going to crush these babies up into bite sized bites and stick them in pill pockets. Or, you could...but you'd go through at least a dozen. You will need to give one of these per thirty pounds. So, if you have a big dog, you'll need many pill pockets to get these choked down.
