I have been using this product for 30 years so is my sister and best friend. I use it to increase the volume in couple of are - and works so well, specially in between hair wash, when I weak up the back of my hair dives and create a line down to the scalp. I don’t have bold spots rather thin spots that I use this product to feel. Looks so natural. My sister does have lots of bold spots and this product works so good for her that you can’t tell there is no hair in those areas. Is a magical cover up product!

Going through minoxidil shed, this covers any embarrassing slivers of scalp. It works like magic! I have dark blonde hair and the light brown works perfectly.

The only thing that prevents this product from being five stars is the fact that there is no “strawberry blonde” option available. I got “light brown” instead and the color is slightly off, but it’s definitely closer to my color than the “auburn” version (which is too bold/dark).

I have VERY thin hair on the top and front of my head. I'm a 41 yr old female with female pattern baldness. I have medium brown curly hair. Based on previous reviews I chose light brown. I'm happy I did me because it blended perfectly. To apply I found the spray applicator works best for me. I dry and style my hair and then gently lift sections up and holding the sprayer 3-6" above my hair, give shallow "poofs" to the shaft and 2-3" in length from my scalp. Then I lay the hair back in the desired style and generally mist the hair in the thinnest spots-patting the hair to gently push it into the hair itself. Then light spray with hairspray. I have also not used hair spray and it stayed in place as well. It has never come off on my pillow or my clothes. The only issue I have is getting too close to my scalp- it can become polka dots in my bald spots if not careful. If you have a small bald spot this would be fine, but my hair is so thin I would need a lot of product to cover my scalp. Toppik plumps the hair I have and dusts my scalp in color to minimize my scalp showing. My husband thinks it looks really natural- he didn't know what I had done but kept saying how good my hair looked. He was surprised when I told and showed him the product. He had no idea it was fibers! Part of what really makes my hair look thicker is that this product is great to make your hairline part look thinner and thus making your hair appear fuller. To keep a straight part line, lay a pipe cleaner on top of your part or use a piece of paper to cover the part line and then apply to Toppik over the paper/pipe cleaner. You will be amazed how minimizing your part maximizes the look of your hair! It's a good solution with little effort. Depending in your type of thinning/balding will determine if the product is successful for you. The product does attach to the hair you have and does appear thicker and it does not come off until you wash it. It did exactly what it promised to. Good luck!

I'm still wondering if Toppik "works". I can't get close enough to the back of my head with a mirror or phone camera to see any fibers, but the bald spot is less visible. I tried it on the hair on my arms to see if it would build fibers, but it just turned my arm brown - no building of anything. So it's probably safe to assume that it is simply coloring my scalp back there. I'm just starting to lose my hair from hormones, surgery and stress and though Toppik makes me feel like it's not as noticeable, I may just look like an old lady pretending no one will notice her stained head. I did try it on the front of my head around my face, but it's difficult to apply without it delineating your hairline. Or it my case my mile-high forehead. Several key points: This light brown is very ash brown. In case you haven't been coloring your hair for a million years, this means that the color reads as green not gold. There is zero gold. I purchased both auburn and light brown and primarily use the brown to tone down the auburn a wee bit. If I purchase again I will rethink the colors I choose. It is also completely matte. More matte than dry shampoo or volume powder. I would use volume powder to help hide the dull roots, but for normal down hairstyles Toppik is noticeably matte. Be prepared to wipe everything in a 5 foot radius immediately after use! You will find brownish powder on not just floor and counter but your toothbrush and the tiny edges around your sink and the back of the toilet and the top of towel racks - clean up right away or you'll find it on your cuffs, socks, elbows, etc. Apply before your clothing. See above. Don't forget to clean your ears. If you play with your hair or scratch your scalp your fingernails can get "dirty". I didn't use hairspray to set, so maybe that helps. I'm going to try other similar products just to see if there's a difference. Maybe this is the best. I'll let you know.

I have thinning hair and I applied Toppik Hair Building Fibers to give it the appearance of greater density. It did cover areas of my scalp. It worked best on the crown and where people couldn't not see directly into my hair. However, this product is dusty. It will float in the air when applied and needs the spray to firmly hold. Furthermore, the color is off. I ordered light brown, but the product is actually a light brown green! I didn't notice this until I put it on my hair and looked at my scalp. You can diminish this green hue by lightly rubbing it into your hair, but on the scalp, you will notice this odd color.

This is absolutely amazing. It covers everything, however after my first attempt I will only use it from here on in on my thining spots, and leave the bald spots out. You can tell that there is product on the bald spots and makes it noticeable. However using it on the thining areas does have a natural look. I love it!

Okay color, has some green tones if you use a lot, not nice
