They differ from Western Watercolors in that they contain a fish glue as a binding agent. That said, they are wonderful and I enjoy painting with them. I use mostly traditional asian "rice" papers. **Q: Is stone blue included in this set?** A: I've been painting for over 30 years. Stone blue isn't of the normal pigments used in the blue category. Your best bet is to get your color wheel and mix it yourself. It's easier than you think. This set is great for mixing colors. **Q: are these lightfast?** A: Some are more than others, but as an artist for over 30 yrs., I have confidence in the paints archival properties. There are things that should always be done with paintings done in watercolor, gauche or watercolor, be framed in sun protective glass. Sun is more damaging than any other element in the longevity of a painting. So, paint away with fun and joy making. Feed that inner artist. **Q: Can you tell me what type of rice paper you are using in your video? They are very different and your results are beautiful. thank you** A: It's semi-sized xuan paper (ASIN: B086YN4CQQ) (^_^) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Traditional Chinese painting colors will not bleed when painting is mounted *by F***L on April 11, 2022* These watercolors are pigment combined with glue.
