I never completly take a car air freshener completly out of the bag, because like everything, it doesn't last.However, these air fresheners did not smell much and when removed from the bag, the smell was not notice at all.I would recommend Jelly Belly (Cherry is awesome) or Magic tree (Vanilla is amazing).
