It is almost that time of the month so it's not surprising. I have to also admit that I forgot to wash my face last night and by the time I realized that, I was too lazy to turn the water back on in the shower. So the next morning, when I noticed my new friend, I immediately washed with the Agua Elegante face wash. A second pimple appeared the day after and it is slightly smaller than the first one. I'll continue to wash twice a day with this face wash. Hopefully it'll continue to help my pimples to heal faster than my old Neutrogena cleanser. But my conclusion is that there's no cleanser on earth that can combat the war with hormones.INITIAL REVIEW (Jan 5, 2019)I received this product at a deep discount in exchange for my honest review. When I first opened the package and saw the bottle, I was surprised at how small it was. I did not think that it would last more than a month. I believe the makers intend to sell this bottle at $20 so I was skeptical before using it since in addition, I have tried so many cleansers and none have made a dramatic difference. The manufacturer contacted me within a day or two of receiving this product to write a review. However, I told them that I would like to use it for at least one month before I write my review because for a product like this it really needs to be used long enough so that it can be tested with all the fluctuations of stress and hormonal changes of life. Just for reference, I am a woman in my mid-40s. Prior to using this cleanser, I regularly experienced 1 to 3 pimples every month on my chin. Some of them were quite large and inflamed. Very occasionally, they are so severe and more numerous that I would need to get on antibiotic therapy to calm the area down. I have a very oily nose and it extends down to my chin. The rest of my face has normal to dry skin.After using this cleanser for about a week, I had not noticed a difference in my skin as far as breakouts are concerned. I still had the normal one or two pimples, some were small and some were bigger. However some time in the second week, I noticed that the pimples that I had were healing faster than usual. And going into the end of the second week and into the third week, all of the pimples had healed and disappeared and there were no new ones. I was pleasantly surprised and for the first time felt optimistic that I may have found a cleanser to combat this troublesome chin of mine.As I write this review it is 3 days past the one month mark. I had a clear chin and face for the first time in a long time through the middle of December, when it was very stressful getting all the Christmas presents purchased, wrapped, mailed, and Christmas cards made and sent.For the most part, I washed with this cleanser in the morning and before bedtime. Occasionally, I'd use it only once a day and the other time I'd wash with my old cleanser. I still have more than 50% of the bottle left.This cleanser reminds me of another soap that I had tried from Amazon before. It is a dark brown bar of soap and African in origin. It had a lot of reviews of how it had helped lots of people with their breakouts. For me however, it did not help at all. This particular cleanser is also dark in color and grayish black so it reminded me of that other soap. It doesn't lather like traditional soap and has an earthy scent but the biggest difference is that this cleanser actually made my skin clear of pimples. Another difference I noticed is that this cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean but not overly dry. The Neutrogena cleanser I used to use removed the oil but left my skin extremely dry and feeling tight. I think my body produced even more oil to compensate for the over dryness so I was left with a more oily face than I started with.I will continue to use the cleanser until it runs out. If you wash your face twice a day this won’t last long. It’s pretty expensive to be honest. I have to purchase a new one soon, lol. I didn’t want to write a review because vendors on amazon love to raise prices well above what the product is worth if they get good reviews. But, this product works. I like it because i use to get pimples every single day! Like little ones after having a baby and during my pregnancy. This has virtually stopped my pimples from forming on my skin! It literally cleans your skin of oils but also doesn’t leave it dryed out! I can forget to use a moisturizer after using this because my skin is silky smoothe after each use. I will continue to try other products from this brand. I just hope that the price doesn’t increase because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to afford it. I except to spend atleast 30+ dollars a month on two bottles. That’s equivalent to 8 oz and is extremely expensive.
