Komelon SL2825 Self Lock 25-Foot Power Tape

I bought this because I misplaced two other large tape measures somewhere. I bought this one because the price was right but it works great. I especially love the self locking feature.

Was looking for a good tape measured and this fit all my boxes. •Starts out self locking so I can extend to the length I want and it holds. •Nice easy design that I can spot in a crowded room •Very sturdy even at the full length of 25 feet. It’s a great ruler that is decently priced. I keep it in my tool bag at all times while on jobs.

Love this! So easy to use, and if you are someone who is learning how to DIY their home then this is definitely a must have. It’s not as heavy as you would typically expect which is really nice and the lightweight makes it easy to do projects and get measurements with less hassle.

Its good to have a retractable device that actually retracts as it should. You will like this power tape

This automatic locking tape measure works really well for everyday use. The self-locking mechanism is super convenient . The blade locks automatically when extended and retracts smoothly at the push of a button. No more fumbling to hold the tape in place while measuring. The nylon coated blade feels durable and helps protect against wear and tear, while the high carbon steel construction gives it a solid, sturdy feel. The impact-resistant ABS case with a rubber overmold provides good grip and protects it from drops. I also like that it has stud markings every 16 inches, which makes it handy for quick framing or home improvement projects. The only small downside is that the lock button can feel a bit stiff at first, but it loosens up with use. Overall, it’s a reliable, well-built measuring tape that feels durable and performs smoothly.

For some reason, tape measures grow legs and walk away in my household. My father and I both have our own collections of tools, and when something needs measuring, neither of use can seem to find a tape measure! I got this one to keep in my Husky roll away work station. I reasoned that it's bright green color would help it stand out among my old black tape measure and my father's chromed units. And stand out it does! Every time I've needed a tape measure I've been able to easily locate this one. The automatic brake on this tape measure has taken some getting used to. The only other auto-braking tape measure my father and I have used is the old motorized Black and Decker unit he got as a gift years ago, and it too has grown legs and walked away. As I use the tape more though, I'm growing to like the auto brake more. It's nice to quickly pull one or two feet of tape out and not worry about getting whipped by the tape when I invariably forget to set the lock. But that raises a question: How durable and reliable is the brake in this tape measure? I've only had this tape measure for a month and it only sees slight occasional use, so I can't answer that question. The whole unit feels well made though, so I hope that the brake is just as solid.

This tape measure was much better quality than I expected. Heavy duty. It does lock when you pull it out (which is apparent in the title). This shocked me a bit, but has been quite handy.

This tape measure works great. It feels like a solid build and works great. The auto lock feature works well and makes it easy when measuring. The measurements are easy to read. You can't beat the value for the price. Highly recommended if you like the auto lock feature in a tape measure.

Unfortunately this lasted less than a week. The spindle mechanism unwound internally and the tape would not retract. Disappointing purchase but it was a cheap buy for a measuring tape so not entirely unexpected. Won’t buy again

I'm not sure if the self-locking mechanism was introduced by Komelon, but I'll never buy another tape again that doesn't have this feature. I am a professional carpenter and find it to be so much easier to use. They will wear out like any other tape measure, but the design makes them my go to brand now. I just bought six more to give to my carpenter/homeowner friends.

Strange to say about a simple tape measure, but this is an oddly satisfying item. The tape is textured and feels nice, the weight is perfect, it thunks in a low reassuring thud when you stop it. Feels very solid in your hand. Never thought I could be so pleased about a tape measure, but this is just great quality.

Tape is well constructed and easy to read. No metric scale so tape is 100% imperial and easy to make from either side. Love the self-locking feature. Great value for $20 for a 25' tape.

Doesn't try to retract while I'm extending or reading it. This one takes the frustration out of measuring.
