Great Quality and Comfort
I don't usually do reviews but there is a serious lack of literature on the Fender NINE IEMs. I purchased these after sending back a pair or BASN IEMs that were half the price but felt cheap and uncomfortable during sets. Disclaimer: Other musicians I play with like the BASNs, they are just not for me.I'll start by saying I have spent weeks researching IEMs for drummers. I'm basically an amateur drummer playing to a click track at my church a couple times a month. I didn't want to break the bank and after all my research, it was between the Fender NINEs and Shure SE215s. Both have comparable specs at around $100.I chose fender after reading a mixture of great but also a lot of bad reviews about the SE215's quality. Even with the shortage of reviews, I knew Fender would be top notch quality. From my sesearch, the NINEs are basically same construction as the $500-plus models. Plus, I think they are the latest generation of an existing IEM line that appear to have been successful over the past decade. Thus far, I have been practicing at home with the Fender NINEs and they sound good but nothing earth shattering. The real test came today when I played hooked up to the sound system at my church. Our system is pretty nice and I can control everything in my ears at my fingertips. That being said, I had a hard time leveling the sound, particularly with hearing the highs. The bass is awesome but I found myself cranking up the ambient mic setting to hear track media and my cymbals. It may be that I have to keep playing with my adjustments but based on my first go, the over ear Audio Technicas I typically use are easier to adjust for the sound I want and easier on my ears at vamp.I love how these things feel though and the bass sound alone make them worth keeping. I am going to mess with my sound settings more and see what I can do next time I play. I feel over time I will figure out how to get the sounds I want. Something also noteworthy, they are great at sound isolation when using foam tips. I didn't like the silicone tips to much but they are comfortable for casual listening. In conclusion, there are a lot of cheaper options out there with more frills. But I'm not a huge sound snob and I wanted something affordable that would last long without breaking or having to buy extra parts for comfort. If you have read this far than you are prob stuck on these too. Just do it and please post a review. I'd love to hear what others think of these IEMs. I'm going to keep testing them out and I may post an update if I get what I want out of them.

Great in-ear headphone, at least for the $99 price
After being a fan of the Aurisonics brand for many years I decided to try out one of their post-Fender acquisition offerings. Much of the charm and small-company aesthetic of years past has been lost. No longer hand assembled in the U.S.A., these are now produced in China like most of our consumer electronics.Build quality; these come with a good thick cable which actually looks quite nice. Fender made the (in my opinion) excellent decision to abandon the standard MMCX connector which had been a source of malfunctions in later Aurisonics models and the initial post-Fender acquisition FXA series. These IEM 9s and the entire new Fender IEM line have gone back to the 2-pin connector of old, and that is a positive move.Sound; These have a nice bass response for a relatively cheap pair of IEMs, although it is nothing like what one had come to expect from the Aurisonics line (the early models like ASG-1, ASG-2, ASG-B, etc. were renowned for head slapping bass). I personally found the treble range to have an irritatingly sharp feel, which was especially apparent when listening to spoken word. There was a terrible sibilance effect where listening to radio hosts pronounce the "S" sound was downright painful to the ear. For this reason I returned the IEM 9s. In a non-EQ setup the default tuning was very annoying. I could play with the EQ and turn down the high range, but many music players do not have an EQ and having a balanced tuning regardless of device/player is important for most daily usersFor the price: Worth it. I know I had complaints, but many of those complaints are the same or worse when assessing similarly priced IEMs. For example the Shure SE215s are in a similar price bracket, but have even worse high end sharpness/sibilance and a shadow of the bass response of these Fender IEM 9s. If you want a sturdy built IEM with a replaceable cable (important, because that's usually what breaks first) these are a solid option

Excellent For The Price
I've owned Aurisonics 2.5 CIEM, 2.5G, Kicker, and Fender FXA7. As far as I can tell these are the Kicker/FXA2 replacements. For the price point they are excellent! They're not going to win any awards for fidelity but they will be replacing my Alpha & Delta AD01 at work (almost exactly the same price). The sound is definitely bass heavy with recessed treble which is exactly what I prefer. They come with multiple silicone tips, which I've always hated, but also a pack of S/M/L foam tips that I believe are Comply T-200. I have multiple pairs of TX-400 tips but the included tips have a noticeably smaller hole (pictures included with TX-400 small on the right and included small on the left). The TX-400 fits but it feels like the included small really "snaps" on and has a better seal. It also comes with a carrying case, 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter, and cleaning tool. I think the only negative is the cable - it looks nice but has very bad cable memory (pictured). I like the change back to a 2-pin cable from MMCX but the old twisted pair cable had no memory at all. Overall I would still rate them excellent for the value!Edit: The included foam tips are not T-200. I messaged Fender through their website and they weren't any help. After looking further they seem similar to the SmartCore Sport series but I'm not going to buy them just to test. The Tx-200 works just fine.

Ear Tips are a bit awkward to use.
I dislike the length of the wire. It should be longer. I use it for stage-monitoring.

very clear sound, lacks midrange (to my untrained ears)
I'm new to the in ear studio monitor market but was very impressed with the quality of these headphones. They bring out many of the details in the wide variety of genres I listen to far better than I would have expected.Over ear style clip is a little uncomfortable for extended listening, Otherwise seems like a great product.

Runder, klarer Sound
