Hard to find the right arm
I couldn't get the right arm for it. I bought the American vintage arm like Amazon suggested. It doesn't fit. So I took the bolt/arm slot from my Japanese trem. Now it's a hybrid. This one is a better metal and heavier than the Japanese version. Might get a better tone from it than the Japanese version. Some say it's stiffer but you can adjust the spring so it's actually the same as the Japanese version it just depends on how you adjust the spring./Update. I wrote to fender (email) and they responded. They sent a tremelo with the right bolt that holds the arm this time. Works great. The arm doesn't fall but moves smoothly. I'll give 5 stars but there was a hassle. I hope they figure it out. I'm glad to see Fender making retro but quality parts.

Fits Squier JazzMaster. Get this one, not the cheaper one for the MIJ Fender JM
Great replacement for stock Squier trem. Direct fit, simply remove original and install this one.Increased sustain, overall better performance.Be sure to get a new Fender JM bar, Squier bar is too thick. Test fit new bar prior to installing trem, mine was too loose and spun freely. Crimping the retainer fingers with pliers made the fit tighter and bar now stays where put.

The best option outside of paying an absurd amount of money for the Mastery option
Overall, this is a great tremolo system and it is an upgrade from the Fender Jazzmaster tremolo systems made over seas. But, it’s not quite like the old ones from the 60s and it does have some minor issues. However, once it’s set up properly, it’s very smooth and works well. Here’s how to fix the known issues:1. The collet or bushing where the arm is inserted is not nearly as strong as once was when originally produced in the 60s. Be careful if you need to adjust the teeth (which could help keep the bar from flopping). They can break off easily if you’re not super careful. Instead you should...2. Slightly bend the short end of the trem bar. Sometimes, unless you’re lucky, you get a floppy trem arm because they are no longer as thick as they used to be. This problem is much more common today. You can spend an insane amount of money on a Mastery (might as well buy a vintage fender tailpiece on reverb) or you can try this trick...put the bar in a vice grip (the longer part) so that just the short end sticks. Lightly tap the short end that goes into the collet with a hammer so that it bends just slightly. By slightly bending the short part of the bar, you’ll get a little more traction once inserted and the bar will stay in place. You may have to try this a few times until it’s just right. Again, don’t bend it too much. You just want a little resistance in the collet. It works. I’ve done it before.3. Lastly, the three screws on the top of the unit near where the strings come through are a little too tall and the strings tend to rub on them which could cause your premature breakage (especially the high E). You can get around this by either screwing the two outside screws in backward (from below the plate) or by putting a coat of solder on the ends of the strings near the screws.By now, Fender should know better and fix this issue, but since they haven’t, the tricks above will alleviate the issues that come along with these.Still the best most affordable option! I couldn’t bring myself to buy a Mastery. Too expensive and too modern looking. In my opinion, it ruins the mojo of the guitar if you want a classic look! Aside from the issues, I still would recommmend the American Vintage Jazzmaster trem system.

Thicker gauge plate
Definitely worth the upgrade for a 60s classic vibe squier jazzmaster

Fender we have a problem
I think fender is using their store here on amazon to unload damaged goods. Deep scratches yet no damage to the package. That is rather odd.

An improvement over the Japanese tremolo
Fantastic problem-free vibrato. I’m upgrading from a Japanese one and the difference is significant.-The spring offers more tension, which I find makes for a smoother vibrato experience-The metal bits are thicker, and the arm fits in much better-Most importantly, there’s none of the clicking and creaking I’d come to expect from the Japanese version and there’s no annoying “catching” of the strings and consequent tuning stability issuesIf you’re one the fence between the two, just save yourself some hassle and get this one. It’s worth the little extra $.

AVRI tremolo system
Its an AVRI trem what more can i say. Superb quality item as expected from american Fender gear. Ive had other variations, the jap ones etc but dont mess around. Spend the money and buy this, the quality is great. Its a shame it doesnt come with a trem arm, but thats on Fender. Either way at this price its a win. Just make sure you buy the AVRI trem arm its the only one that fits.

Mycket bra tremolo!
Perfekt för min hembyggda jazzmaster! Fungerar mycket mjukt och fint tillsammans med en Staytrem bridge.
