DeLOCK HDD ACC Sata 2,5 to Thunderbolt Black, 42490

I don't understand why there's so little choice. I looked long and hard for a Thunderbolt enclosure for an SSD for my iMac. This was the best I could find. It's actually ok but:* There is only the Thunderbolt port. It would be nice to have other options in case of emergency (e.g., USB3 port)* No indicator light. I blew the fuse using a different adaptor and I thought that the drive just didn't work but it just was't getting any power. This would have been immediately obvious with an LED indicator.* Doesn't come with a UK mains adapter and I bought one from RS {12 Volt, 2.5 ampere, centre positive, £25)* Doesn't come with Thunderbolt cable (another £25). So the real cost is £139* You can get great USB enclosure for £15 and I don't get why a Thunderbolt enclosure is so much more expensive.

Great, but requires external power, and if you order it in the UK - expect to get European/US plug on the power supply, instead of the UK one.Otherwise, bl@@dy fast ! SSD drive (encrypted) is doing 320mb connected to the Mac Pro. Same drive connected using USB3 is topping at 190mb

Power supply is US or European ... using my personal hairdryer plug converter - not very satisfactory. Åsked Amazon for advice, let's see result.

Excellent for the money! It really is! Speeds are fantastic, miles better than my £500 LaCie Thunderbolt drive.

Provided with an EU plug, not UK. Power supply makes high pitched noise.
