I went to the smaller one because ours is still on the lean, slender side. It's been over a week, and after she tries her hardest to lick and bite at the stitches, she gives up and passes out on the collar because it's like a pillow. She can reach her back legs and genitals, but she is unable to reach her belly where the stitches are. I bought a small for her, so if she had a leg wound, I probably would have sized up to prevent her from reaching her legs.
