This eyeliner is very good, it glides on well and stays put so does not smudge, when I purchased I thought it was retractable but it isn't so I just sharpen it the same as a pencil liner, it's also a nice colour too.

This is remarkable. Totally waterproof - stayed on after a bike ride followed by a pool swim. To my understanding its formula contains polymer which hardens on application and stays where it needs to. This also prevents product from seeping into the eyelid glands and blocking them. I thought I had sensitive eyes but since switching to this all the problems with eye irritation disappeared. Note: to remove this you need an oil based eye make up remover such as Nivea Bi-Phase, which dissolves the waterproof polymer. Shake the remover until well mixed, dip a cotton bud in, and very slowly and gently move it along the closed eyelid to dissolve and wipe off the liner. (Then you'll need to use a cream cleanser to remove the oily remover!).

In my quest to find a smudge-proof and waterproof black eyeliner for my upper and lower waterlines I read the reviews and thought this would be worth a try. It’s a difficult one because it has stayed on, it hasn’t smudged and it is waterproof but it’s made my eyes water all day, even writing this nearly 12 hours after applying. So it does what it says on the tin but I suffer with dry eyes and think it’s aggravated that. Shame because it glides on easily and has a strong black colour, exactly what I was looking for. I’m going to persevere and see if my eyes adapt, fingers crossed. If not it’ll be another one in the reject pile and the quest continues.

I was looking forward to this long lasting glide on liner.It is nt easy for older ladies with older ladies watery eyes to not look like a panda or the liner disappears.This product is smooth to apply,does stay on and is easy.Mine was a dark grey I have white hair so maybe a dark blue would have been a better choice,but so far so good for the price

I bought the Maybelline Tattoo Gel Eyeliner Pencil and I have been really happy with it. The formula glides on smoothly without tugging, and it gives a rich, dark line that lasts throughout the day. It stays in place without smudging or fading, even when worn for long hours. I also like how easy it is to blend slightly if you want a softer look, but it still holds up well once set. The pencil is easy to use and perfect for everyday wear or a more dramatic look. Overall I think it’s excellent quality and great value for what you get. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice product but when you have to sharpen it. I don't find it sharpens it well at all.

This eyeliner is SO GOOD. It lasts all day on the waterline & easy to put on!!

It says on Amazon that the tip is retractable. So I thought my first one was broken and binned it. Ordered another. Then discovered Amazon were wrong and it is NOT retractable. Tried to sharpen the new one this morning as advised, with a high quality sharpener and ended up with a horrible mess. Beyond annoyed. I see this has been an issue for at least two years! Why hasn’t Maybelline addressed it?? NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. AMAZON PLEASE CORRECT YOUR DESCRIPTION WHICH CURRENTLY STATES IT IS RETRACTABLE.
