This is the second one I have purchased- I really LOVE this machine and this is why.......
This is my second one of these- the first one I owned lasted a very long time with heavy use. When it started to die, I was glad to find it still available online. I originally read reviews with complaints about the noise. I found with my first one that it made some noise, but all I had to do was to grab the handle and slide it around on the base to find the "Sweet Spot" where the sound disappeared. So do not allow the reviews about being noisy deter you from buying this machine! It works GREAT. And my new one is even quieter. Be forewarned that the minimum amount of milk you can put in the frother is quite a lot, in fact too much for my cherished coffee mug, so I have had to switch over to a larger mug to accommodate all the foam, or I just split it with my husband. The little agitator in the middle stays on with magnetism, so be sure to wash the frother by hand, and not in the dishwasher with the agitator still in so you don't lose the agitator. I actually leave the agitator in when I wash it- I have a little dish brush that gets any milk residue off the inside that I swish around the agitator and the agitator stays on. Make sure you DRY both the outside and underside of the frother before putting it back on the base. You are not supposed to get the base wet at all. I love this machine and this being my second one there are some improvements, i.e. the MIN and MAX markings on the inside of the frother are much easier to read now. And it can make plenty of froth for many cups of coffee if you are making several cups at once. It takes under three minutes for the froth to be ready, so have your coffee ready because the froth eventually will return to liquid if you dawdle too long. So this is an awesome machine. I missed another one I had previously to these because that one made exactly how much I wanted and since I could not find another, I bought this one, but I love it and Ihighly recommend it. Just so you know, It works great for hot chocolate for my grandson too. It feels a little expensive, but my first one lasted so long with so much use that i did not hesitate to buy it again. P.S. there is a second milk heating agitator that is stored underneath the base- to heat but not froth milk. That works great too. UPDATE: I bought this second one two months ago and it occasionally makes dreadful squealing noises, alas, but it still works fine.

Can’t recommend this frother enough!
This hot and cold milk frother has quickly become one of my most-used kitchen items. It’s incredibly easy to use—just pour in your milk, press a button, and in a minute or two you have perfectly frothed milk, whether you want it hot or cold. The foam comes out smooth and creamy, and it seriously upgrades my coffee at home to feel like something you’d get at a café. I love using the cold setting for iced coffee and the hot setting for lattes or matcha. It also heats milk evenly without burning it, which is a huge plus. Cleanup is simple, and the design is sleek enough to leave out on the counter. If you make coffee at home often, this is 100% worth it. This makes your daily routine feel a little more elevated without any extra effort.

Updated review: Can't live without it!
Update after 1 year: The second one I ordered after the first one pooped out on me is still going strong after a full year. I use it daily to make my morning matcha latte, and it hasn't let me down. Coffee upsets my stomach, so this thing has become indispensable. I even packed it in my suitcase and took it to CA with me for a 2-month visit with my son's family! My DIL is an iced matcha drinker, and after using mine every day for her afternoon matcha treat, she had to buy one of her own -- there was no going back to her old hand-held frother after I left. While I love this thing, I HIGHLY recommend keeping the box it came in with all the paperwork inside so you can send it back in case you get a dud like I did the first time. A note on making matcha with this thing: I've tried almond milk creamer, oat milk, oat milk creamer, real cream and plain cow milk. All three work, but the freshness of your creamer or milk really affects how much froth you get, especially if, like me, you add water to the middle fill line and then creamer to your max line. I prefer Silk oat milk creamer, simply because oat milk is better for the environment. I keep extra cartons of creamer in the freezer. As soon as I empty a carton, I take another one out from the freezer and stick it in the door of my fridge so it'll be thawed by the next morning. Freezing may affect the amount of foam you get, but not by much. Original review: Absolutely loved it when I first got it, but it suddenly stopped frothing. I make 1 cup of matcha tea a day, and it worked great when I first got it. I filled it to the middle line with water, added oat milk creamer to the max line, added stevia and the matcha, and whirled away. It mixed the matcha like a boss, and I got rich delicious foam that towered over the top of my coffee cup, and I loved it. Then over the course of a week, it stopped foaming; it still heated, but instead of foam, all I got was a few large bubbles. I thought at first it was because I ran out of the oat milk creamer I was using and was using another brand, so I did some experimentation. I got fresh new creamer, no go, then I tried whole milk; it did foam, but after a few days, I was back to large bubbles again. I just bought a new carton of whole milk; it foamed if I used a full cup of milk, but not if I made it half water and half milk like I do for tea. I don’t want to drink that much whole milk a day. I’ve ordered a replacement in case I just got a bum one; will update and change my rating if the next one is OK.

Works well
Edit 6/2020: I still love my frother, but wanted to add a note. If you purchase this, do yourself a favor and buy the extra disks at the same time. In May, less than a year after I had purchased the frother, I found that the heating disk was not working properly and was moving much slower than normal, until one morning, it wouldn’t move at all. (I don’t use the frothing disk because it makes way too much froth, so I pulled it out to see if it worked, which it did. Examining both disks, I found that the bottom of the heating disc was very worn down. With the magnetic spin, it made sense. So after a certain time (and as I mentioned in my original review, I use it a lot) it wears down to where it doesn’t make proper contact and won’t spin. While I waited for the replacement set to arrive, I played around with the frother disk and cut off all the little ‘legs’ and used that. It still made more froth than I wanted, but it wasn’t a big deal and it worked well as a substitute. I have used Secura Frothers for several years. I make a hot cocoa type drink with raw cacao powder at least once a day, and usually twice a day; so the frother gets a lot of use. The ones I’ve owned previously have had the non-stick interior with the motor underneath. Not easy to clean, and after some time, a scorched area would inevitably form on the bottom. As I was perusing Amazon looking for a new one, I was excited to see they had this one with a stainless steel cup! I’ve been using it for three weeks now, and a few things to note. Pros: I love the ease of clean up! I can just leave it in the sink if I feel like it, and it doesn’t matter. It heats and froths milk as well as I would expect from a Secura product. And I like that I can put the cacao powder directly into the cup with the milk and it blends everything nicely. Cons: this is a noisy machine. It works magnetically, so I’m guessing that’s the cause. It’s certainly not a deal breaker, but the noise can be loud. Sometimes it makes a lower humming noise, like a plane taking off, and that’s ok. But sometimes it makes a screechy noise and I leave the kitchen. If you can’t stand nails on a chalkboard, you might have a problem with this model. Sometimes I can rotate the cup around and it will settle down, but more often than not, it screeches and I just wait it out. Which brings me to the next issue; it takes longer than the old machine did to heat the milk. My previous machines had the milk ready in less than two minutes. This one takes five minutes if I add the cacao to the milk. If I run it with just the milk, it’s 4:30. For me, the stainless cup makes up for the other inconveniences and it was well worth purchasing.

Big money saver!
EDITED 6/6/26 - A LITTLE OIL WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF GRIEF. Solved the problem of the frother not spinning by adding a few drops of olive oil to the underside of it before placing it in the pitcher. This has kept my machine humming along for 3.5 years. Last week it stopped spinning again bc the teeny little gasket inside the frother has shifted out of place. I can fix it with tweezers after each use, but I’ve opted to buy the 2 replacement frothers instead. BEST KITCHEN APPLIANCE I’VE EVER PURCHASED. Switching to 5 stars. I’ll gladly spend a little time & money to maintain a quality appliance. ****************************** I love this little machine! I make matcha lattes with it every single day. It has already saved me hundreds of dollars on Starbucks. I’ve also made delicious hot chocolate. Doesn’t match the quality at Starbucks because they’re using very expensive steaming machines, but I’m ok with that. Pros: extremely simple to use. One attachment for “stirring” and another for “foaming.” Simple to clean because the cup is separate from the heater. Makes drinks that are just hot enough without burning your mouth. Cons: the “stirring” attachment is temperamental. Sometimes it doesn’t want to spin. But I don’t know that until I already have a full cup of liquid. So I’ve had to use tongs to pull out the attachment & put it back on. It spins easier when lubricated, which makes sense. Foam: Soy & regular milk produce good foam, oat & almond milk don’t. I usually just want my caffeine in a hurry so I don’t bother with foam. But on a really cold day, you can’t beat a cup of hot chocolate with some sweet foam on top!

Mixed emotions on this product.
Update #2: per my last update, to continue use of this product, had to order replacement parts….the TWO replacement whisks that came as a set, together only lasted about a year. To order them AGAIN, now cost $12. If you have to do this every year, that ends up being a rather expensive small appliance. Ordered anyway, however, at the 2 week mark of the order being placed, and the replacement whisks NOT being shipped yet….we cancelled the order and ordered a whole different frother appliance that will still be here before the estimated date provided for the unshipped replacement pieces. You can see below, my process with this product. Save yourself the hassle I had. Original appliance bought in 2021. So this has all happened in three years or less. Updated experiences: after the original review (follows at the end of this update), I contacted the seller, and they replaced my machine. It lasted longer, but I still ended up having the same problem. I was looking through the reviews trying to see if anyone else was having the same issue. And a review came up from outside of the U.S. that explained the science reason why the whisk would stop spinning over time and why it needs to be replaced (something with the kind of metals used). So I decided to just order the double whisk set replacement. And it works again! I wish I could find a way to thank the random customer somewhere in another country, but all I can say is, they knew what would work. So, I hope I will get a few more years out of this before I have to concern myself again with this annoying detail. It would be better if the manufacture would correct this issue, especially if a customer can figure it out. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Worked perfectly in the beginning. I was elated since I had concerns about purchasing an off brand. At times, the amount of froth has been different, which we attributed to potentially small variances in the fat content of our creamer (all natural ingredients). The last couple of weeks, it has not been foaming the milk. Our creamer has not changed. Finally figured out, the little whip is not spinning, or stops. Or both. Had to put my hand in the creamer to mess with the whipping piece to figure this out. Now I am irritated, because I am out $52 and a product that doesn’t work as intended. Had I known this would happen, I would not have bought this product.

**READ EDIT** Freaking Amazing...Froths Oat Milk Like A Boss
Wow I am in love with this frother! I was debating buying a Breville but just couldn't stomach the $125 price tag. I did A LOT of research and came upon this frother by Secura. For a third of the price of the Breville, I thought I'd give it a try. SO FREAKING GLAD I DID!!! This makes amazing, frothy drinks! I like to use oat milk, and it produced a thick and delicious froth! I put a cup of oat milk in, add 1/4 tsp of chai tea, a dollop of date syrup, and 1/2 tsp of cacao powder and get a delicious chai latte! I love that the button on the front to start the cycles is touch activated so you don't even have to push it to start the cycles...cool! Also a plus is that all the pieces are magnetic. So it's super easy to clean this baby because there aren't any weird attachments or crevices. Seriously, don't doubt this baby. It's amazing!!!!!!! **EDIT ON 3/13/2020** I edited this to give it one star, as after just two uses it stopped frothing! On the third day of use, it started making this high pitched squealing sound and when it was done the cycle, there was absolutely no froth, only some bubbles. I tried it the next two days and the same result. SUPER unhappy about this and NOT PLEASED at all. I will update if I am able to fix this with the seller or company. **EDITED 3/24/2020** I'm editing this to give it a final rating of 3 stars. I got in contact with the company/seller and they made it really simple to get a new machine. They were great to work with and my new frother came later in the week. Super impressed and happy with this. I found that the new frother made excellent foam for my first drink. I've used it 8 times since then and the froth isn't as much as the first time. It's still a decent amount and it warms my chai tea, making it simple to make. Overall, it's a solid 3 star product.

New Favorite Home Kitchen Gadget!! (And I’m a Barista)
This is my new favorite thing!! :: WHAT I LOVE:: I am a Barista, so I have gotten spoiled with steamed milk at work. At work, I love lattes, steamed half & half in my tea, and hot chocolate made exclusively of with milk. At home, my family is big on hot chocolate. We usually make it with boiled water (which waters it down), and add milk (which cools it down). If we heat milk on the stove, it is inevitably a mess. I got the fancy chocolate powder we use at my coffee shop, for hot chocolate at home; but I was going to be darned if I was going to make it with water! And I really didn’t want to hassle with heating milk on the stovetop. I do not have an espresso maker at home (b/c they are all worthless no matter the brand or how much you pay); but I just wanted a way to heat milk at home. This milk warmer / frother came highly rated and with rave reviews, and they weren’t kidding!! I have perfect heated half & half for my tea, and My family is enjoying perfectly mixed (no chunks), perfectly heated hot chocolate!! It is really easy to use, clean, and store! :WHAT I DON’T LIKE:: I wish the whisk parts were not plastic. I just got this about 12 hours ago, and I am already going to order extra parts, because I know something will happen to them. I wish they were also stainless steel. Also, it takes a little longer than I would like to heat. My biggest problem, is that we don’t necessarily like frothy milk and half & half, but we do like it pretty hot. Solution: we have found that if we use the stir attachment as opposed to the frother whisk, it will still mix our hot chocolate powder if we add it in little by little slowly. But, we do have to heat it on the white setting for it to be hot enough. It took some tweaking, but we are now making a perfect, and easy cup of hot chocolate!!! I really love this!!!

Just perfect
Update 3 years later: the frother has become slightly noisier over time but it still works just as well and I can safely say that this is one of my all time favorite purchases on Amazon. Original review: I have been looking for something to make foam for my how chocolate for quite some time and.... this is it. It is just perfect. The foam is amazing, exactly the right texture. You can add the chocolate powder in the bowl (which is super easy to clean and to use, since it is not attached to the basis) unlike most milk frother. If you use it just for milk, the results are also amazing, my tea lattes have never been better! And the temperature is just right, not too hot, not too cold. It is very easy to use with clear instructions, it is not loud at all, so I feel comfortable using it at 11pm without fearing I'll wake up everyone. I initially used 2% milk, but switching to whole milk took the experience to a new level. Oh, and there is a spot under the basis to keep the whisk/disk you're not using, so that it is not immediately lost in a drawer. Genius. So.... I really only have positive things to say. It is amazing.

Very happy with this milk frother. Works well and easy to clean.
I’ve had this for 4 months and use it a couple of times a day. This is a really great milk frother. I use it to make lattes, using skim milk on the hot chocolate setting as that heats the milk a little more whilst frothing it too. It is compact, easy to use and clean. It works quietly and fairly quickly too. Initially it worked silently, but after a few uses it started to make some noise (not very loud, but definitely louder than initially), and recently it has been operating more quietly again. I’ve no idea why the noise changed as I haven’t changed anythIng in the way I use or clean in. In any case, it works really well and heats and froths the milk nicely. My daughter loves to use chocolate milk (1%) in it for hot chocolate too. The froth is really nice, just the right amount, and no further heating needed. It’s a great milk frother. I’m very happy with it.
