Fisher-Price Imaginext Battle Rover, Standard Packaging

Oh my goodness. Best. Toy. Ever! This is the coolest toy I have seen in a very long time. My son mentioned that he wanted this for Christmas. My initial reaction was it was a little pricy, but I didn't understand that this toy has all the assesories that are generally sold seperately included. My son opened this on Christmas and his reaction was priceless, and my husband's was typical. "Where's my tool kit?" I opened the end of this box and set it so all the pieces could tumble out, but a nearly completely battle rover rolled out. Within a couple minutes and some batteries this thing was ready for play. The lights and sounds are so cool and there were so many assesories. Did I read the instructions? Nope, I was too busy playing, so it took me a while to discover that if the space ship shot the battle Rober it reacted to the "attack." This thing is also big and built for the punishment that toddler and child play involves. This is the neatest toy and I am definately very glad I didn't let the price cause me not to look at it further. Honestly for all that comes in this box, the price is quite nice. I wanted to update my review. My son has had this toy for some time now and it is still one of his favorites. I have been extremely impressed with the durability of this toy. I continue to highly recommend this toy.

My son gives this 5 stars because he is 6 and plays with it everyday since Christmas. I give it 4 because this is one of the loudest toys that we have ever owned. As you can see his stars win out! This really is a nice toy, there are a lot of different things to do with it; but holy cow, when you press the button to launch the space ship, I swear there is a real space launch occurring! Other than the loud noise, some of the good features are: this basically comes already assembled out of the box, some small parts (but there is a storage compartment at the back of the rover) though they are big enough to keep track of, it comes with a million discs (this may not seem like a good thing, but if we lose a couple its not such a big deal now) and it keeps him busy for HOURS!

What a great toy! It is big and rugged. Put some batteries in it and the entire rover lights up, the shuttle raises up and shoots out 18 disks. My 7 year old son received this for his birthday and has not stopped playing with it yet. This was going for 2x what Amazon is charging for Xmas and has come down to a more reasonable price. Great value for the price of the toy! There are some small pieces, so kids under 5 would have some issues with it. My son was able to assemble with no help from me. This toy is built to last and to withstand a energetic boy playing with it daily.

There are a lot of selling points that we loved about this toy: First of all the size alone is breath taking. About 3ft long, and a foot and a half tall! It definitely has many "gadgets": The pilot seats swivel as well as the two "gun men" seats. The tools up front along with the crane all have moving parts. There is a trap door, storage bin, and a release that sends the quad down the ramp. There are 3 buttons on the control panel and you can't forget the big space ship that sits on top, that moves up and down with a turn of a red disc. It comes with 3 figures and 18 discs, which we love because even if we loose a few there are plenty to still play with. With everything this toy has to offer, it definitely is worth the money... but do be cautious. I've been watching prices and I've seen this toy go for as little as 75.00 here on amazon. There is no need to ever have to pay 100 plus for it. There are three reasons why I'm rating this toy a 4 star instead of 5. 1. Some of the pieces are rather cheap. I can see my son breaking them after a little while. The crane is just asking to be broken. Its joints don't bend very easily and it sticks out off the side of the toy. Also the orange piece the crane is connected to along with the alien chamber (that has the trap door) don't seem to be the same quality of plastic as the rest of the toy. 2. Because of the size and shape, it does have the look of a ride on toy but it doesn't have the ability to hold the weight of a 30+lb child. My son just doesn't understand why he can't ride it. 3. The difficulty of putting the battle rover into battle mode is ridiculous. You have to "attack" the rover three separate times with an alien ship and between each time hit a different button on the "kid control panel". Then it automatically defaults back to normal mode after 30 seconds of inactivity. The ships can't be more than a foot away, and trying to explain all of this to a 3 year old will be pointless and a source of frustration. For now, we just aren't going to show him this major selling feature of the toy. Otherwise we will just have tears and a million trips back to the toy to help him get it started again. It's a total bummer that they couldn't come up with an easier format to put this toy into battle mode. A simple play --- battle mode switch would have sufficed.

I cannot say enough good things about this toy! Santa was kind enough to deliver it to my 4 year old this Christmas and my son hasn't stopped playing with it yet! It does so much and the imagination possibilities are endless. My son has enjoyed raising and lowering the spaceship and loading the space car up and down the ramp and shooting the canons and launching flying discs from the spaceship. Santa also brought the purple alien, alpha walker, and alpha explorer sets to go with it and he has had a blast playing with them together. While the toy is large it isn't nearly as large as I had feared it would be. It is about the size of the little tikes cozy coupe car without the height if that puts it into perspective for anyone. While Santa got it for an incredible price before Christmas, I would happily pay full retail for it because it is truly worth every single penny!

This is by far the coolest toy my son has ever had. It is very big but it does so much and all of my kids enjoy playing with it. It was definitely worth the money and I had a hard time finding it. He is now getting a ton of other Imaginext toys for Christmas that he can use with it. I would absolutely recommend this toy to anyone thinking about buying it. My son has played with it every day since receiving it for his birthday. He got it for his fourth birthday and my 6 year old daughter and almost 2 year old daughter love it too!! I have a feeling it will get played with a lot over the years!!! And amazon always has what I'm looking for, so thanks Amazon!!!

I love all the imaginext toys I've tried so far, including this one. Santa brought it as a gift for our 3 and 5 year old boys and they really like it. It is definitely big enough for the two of them to play with together especially since there are so many things to do on it. There is a removable space ship type thing that rises up with the push of a button and shoots little discs, a little car, lots of little places for the imaginext guys to sit and hide and lots of buttons with sound effects. It does come with a lot of small pieces but they are really not necessary so you could easily just put them away if they are too small for your child. The actual toy is quite large (about 2+ feet long x 1+ foot wide x 1 + foot tall) maybe more so you would need space. We paid $75 for it on Amazon a few weeks before Christmas and I thought that was a fair price considering that it is such a big toy and it would be shared among our kids. We did not get frustration free packaging but it was no problem because it comes fully assembled anyway. You just need to add batteries.

Holy Cow...this toy does a lot of things! It has a spaceship in it...a car that rolls out...it shoots discs...makes all kinds of sounds....has flashing lights....says all kinds of phrases....REALLY COOL toy for a little boy. My 3 year old nephew loved it. The best part of the toy is that it rolls out of the box ready to use...no assembly necessary...just a little reading to get the discs going...Great Gift!
