Excellent Product
I have purchased a similar product under a different name and recently purchased this product and so far have been very impressed with this player even more than the previous version. In fact, I have used many, many different MP3 players for swimming. I swim almost two miles a day and could not get through the boring cadence without the help of music. I have found that this is the best player with all the features that are important to me. In fact, this is the only swimming MP3 player I have ever had to turn down the volume on, which is impressive. The volume is key, many players just can't be turned up loud enough to compensate for the water and this player can go very loud, which is good. Also the ability to feel the buttons (who cares about a screen when you have the player on the back of your head) to move forward/backward is fantastic. Yes, the controls and the limited options are simplistic but that is exactly what you need when your doing serious lap swimming and cannot fiddle with controls. The price is excellent on this product as well. Loading the music is simple as well, just pop it on the old PC and voila, it is a flash drive. No hassle with some stupid music file program like other asinine players. I really like the way it clips as well, you clip it to the back of your goggles. It's a small nit, but not crazy about the jack input being on the side, wish it was on top but it works fine as is. However I haven't used the ear buds at all, so can't vouch for them. But the H20 short cord ear buds really sound well combined with this excellent player. I have found that the biggest weakness for any underwater MP3 players are the ear pieces. If you are kicking against a wall when making that reverse very few ear buds can take that pressure. The H20 Surge Plus (short Cord for lap swimming) ear buds and the H2O X1's are excellent but pricey, you can check out my reviews there. These additional ear buds are an investment but they do a great job underwater. You can also use the extension this MP3 players provides to extend short cord ear buds, if needed. I have loaded 1200 MP3 songs (192k each song), really happy it's an 8k player. My impression is that this player will play songs in alphabetical order by artist only. So if your playlist is set up that way, then you should be fine with their method but I hate hearing multiple songs by the same artist in a row and prefer mixing them up. The key feature on this product is the shuffle feature and the ability to play a set playlist in the order you want to hear them play. I use that shuffle feature when I get bored with my playlist but the other feature with this product is that it will play your playlist if you put numbers in front of the name or tags. I use a couple of simple free Windows programs called Rename ( a simple app) or Mp3tag (this is a more complex app, but much more flexible if you learn it) that will automatically add numbers to the name of songs I want to hear, in whatever numerical order I want them to play and this player will play them in that order. It also will pick up from that last song the was played previously the next time you turn on the player. (It's a simple feature, but actually have had players that go back to the first song in the list after the player was turned off.) Also some helpful tips on using waterproof ear buds: 1. Start with the larger ear bud rubber ends first then work your way down to the smaller sizes if that doesn't fit. If you use the larger sizes, you get a tighter barrier against the water. 2. Some people use vaseline (yuck, can you imagine putting that in your ear) or wetting the ear buds lightly in the water before you place them in your ear, they think it secures them in the ear better. But I disagree and I have found the best way to keep them in your ear is to use ear swabs and briefly wipe your ear where the buds go (outside of you ear canal, not the inside). That way you're wiping the oil off you ear and my buds stay in completely during the swim. This is important because if the buds become loose you will get water behind them and you will be hosed for the rest of the swim. However the volume is loud to overcome that with this player, just need to remove the water reset the bud in your ear. 3. When you insert them in your ear pull back the top of your ear with your opposite hand, that will stretch it and allow the ear canal to gently wrap snugly around the ear bud. 4. If you use the Tennmak foam ear buds I mention below, you don't have to do any of this above. It is rare when the water enters the ear canal if you take these three steps or get foam buds and you can enjoy the music much better. Hope this helps been buying all sorts of waterproof MP3 for years since they first came out and believe me, went through the gamut on these and read many dumb reviews. I hope this sheds lights on swimming with music, which I really enjoy and helps you avoid the learning curve I had to go through. Happy swimming! Updated 01/23 I now also use the Tennmak 12pcs Ultra Strong Earphone Memory foam ear tips or any similar products in place of the rubber ones that come with any buds. Just make sure whatever bud tips you purchase sit tight on the ear bud knob so no water gets in. I tried the Tennmak and found that the foam tips expand when you are in the water and provide a much better barrier against water getting inside your ear behind the earbud and ruining the sound. You do need to replace the foam tips since they degrade over time a but you get about 12 for 8 dollars so cheap enough and provides a strong barrier. I also swim a great deal of laps each time so this advice is for those swimmers that do a lot of laps and push against the wall, that's a lot of pressure for ear buds to take. Casual swimmers will be fine with standard earbuds. I highly recommend the Tennmak ear buds with foam tips combined with the Sewobye Waterproof MP3 Player and the H20 short cord ear buds an outstanding musical swimming experience.

Really good All-Weather MP3 Player
First, I have several MP3 players and they all serve a specific purpose: keeping my phone out of danger. This MP3 player fits the niche of all-purpose outdoors player for lawn mowing, hiking, and bike riding. I started by making a really short video showing button functions while connected to an external speaker...but it quickly spiraled into an actual review. This is a fantastic little MP3 player for outdoor use in various weather conditions. After thoroughly testing, I'm not afraid to get this out in the rain. I'll be taking this with me to mow the lawn, go hiking, or riding my bike around town. Perfect for those usage scenarios. I've had two players fail in the past after being sweat soaked while working in the yard.....Not a worry with this. Pros: Compact - Small size, not much bigger than the Sansa Clip, and it has a nice sturdy clip. Win. Battery - Lasts about 8 hours give or take. Charging from empty to full is around an hour. No problems here. Rugged - It's rubberized because it is waterproof, and that adds a bit of protection. I've dropped it several times and not a scuff to be found. Waterproof - So I've seen reviews talking about taking this in a pool and experiencing failure....That seems a bit excessive. Now I've used this in the shower at least twelve times since I opened it and it is still functioning properly. I'm just not sure I'd take it INTO a pool for a long duration. If I did plan to do so, I'd probably put this in a "waterproof" arm band or something. Even those fail eventually, so take "waterproof" with a grain of salt. Waterproof within limits, if you will. Heck, I've had dive watches that end up waterlogged. This IS something I would take to the pool and connect to an external waterproof speaker, though. Cons: Not exactly a con, but I'd like to see expandable memory. As it is, this is limited by 8GB. Then again, that covers my 60's collection just fine. Plus, without a screen to create and navigate playlists onboard, having a huge library spanning seven decades might be a bit much. I've got other MP3 players for that purpose! It's a nice device at a nice price that will serve my purposes well. Right now it's in the garage with my "walking hat" waiting for me to take the dogs on a walk. I love it!

Player stopped working, support non responsive.
UPDATE 7/22/2026 I have now sent 3 messages to them via their website and support emails. Even got a bounce message on the email they have on their website. No Response. They claim they have a 1 year warranty, and they did honor that before. But now they seem to be unresponsive. If you buy this, it will likely work for a couple months, before it stops working, after that don't count on the company standing by their 1 year warranty. UPDATE 7/18/2026 I am on my 6th one of these MP3 players now. The fact is they do not last. Either water seeps in and they fail. The 3.5mm port gets corrosion on the contacts preventing it from charging, or a short on the circuit board / battery causes it to get really hot while charging and it stops working. I have had some last only 1 week, others last 6 months to a year. Only 1 lasted more than 1 year. The most recent purhcase was beyound the 30 day amazon return policy, I contacted the company, as they say it has a 1 year warranty. It took a few weeks but they finally honored the warranty and sent me a replacement. This time time around though, they seem to be ghosting me. I tried contacting them through their website's submit form, and even their support email address. No response, and this was over a week ago. I am dropping my review to 2 stars, until they reach out. Possibly lower. I might have to move on to other players, which might cost more, but hopefully they are built better and stand by their product. Even though its been a great player when it works. I can't honestly recommend it to others at this time. I will update this review as things progress. Original Review: I got into Masters Swimming a couple years ago. My practices are usually 1-2 hours per day, 5 days a week. Last time I swam was high school (90s), back then music while swimming was just a fantasy by all swimmers, but no actual product existed. So when I got back into swimming I wanted to get an swimming MP3 player to make practices more enjoyable. I have tried just about every type of swimming MP3 player there is. Everyone of them had their pros and cons. In the end I felt the Sewobye was the best option, even though its not 100% perfect. If your looking for an MP3 player for swimming hoping it will last as long as that 90s Sony Discman you have buried in a drawer, let that thought go. There is no perfect Swimming MP3 Player. Over time they will eventually leak, and or the charging contacts will get corrosion on them. The corrosion can be cleaned, but over time, the chemicals in the pools we swim will eventually breakdown the seals, causing these to leak and stop working. Even with that in mind, I continue to buy this player. I am currently on my 4th player. Amazon has been awesome with refunds for players that don't last 30 days, and the company stands by their product, giving me a replacement when it stopped working past 30 days. Communication with the company is a little slow, but they do eventually stand by their product sending a replacement free of charge. I can't say the same thing for several other MP3 Players. Manufactures websites are slow, and they are non responsive to messages. Pros: 8GB of storage easy drag and drop to load music, small form factor that has minimal drag in the water. Decent quality earbuds. Earbuds do not leak. Good amount of Swim time per charge. I have never been able out swim the battery on these. Intuitive Controls, easy to use, plenty loud! Cons: Included earbuds are not the softest, initially feels like jamming plastic in your ears until you get used to them. Included earbud wiring is too long. I have to wrap them around my goggle straps to keep them from catching water. Wish they came as a 12" version. Sound quality could be better. The bass is a little weak. Final Con: They do not last forever I am currently on my 4th set. The first set (black) lasted me over a year. The second set ( blue ) lasted only about 2 weeks. I was able to returned them via amazon since it was within the 30 day window. 3rd set lasted a few months ( black). These were beyond the Amazon return window, so I contacted the company directly. After about a week of back and forth emails, they agreed to send me a replacement pair under warranty. They are supposed to have a 1 year warranty, and recently they increased their warranty to 2 years. They stood by their product and sent me a replacement pair, which deserves credit. These do seem prone to water leakage over time. Its kind of hit or miss. 1st pair lasted over a year before they started leaking water. 2nd pair (blue) after 2 weeks. 3rd pair didn't leak but started to over heat after a few months (defect on the board). Hopefully this next pair will last a long time. Else its good to know the warranty is now 2 year and the company stands by their product. Other Options: I tried just about every other swimming MP3 Player. The bone conduction ones, make your goggles leak, and the sound quality is crap. The Sony's catch water and easily get ripped out of your ears during push offs and turns. Others are built like bricks, and catch water, and even those suddenly stopped working after a couple months. I feel the Swobye is the best option, which is why I keep buying them. I think part of the problem is having to charge them with the 3.5mm headphone USB adapter. over time corrosion starts to form on the contacts which affects charging and continuity with your head phones. They need to make a version that can use wireless charging, and Bluetooth to load music, that way there is no point of weakness for water to get in. I just think the chlorine in the pools wears down the seals with time. I can swim normal with these. everything from fly to sprints. They earbuds do not leak and they stay in place. Its so small and well designed you won't feel it on the back of your goggles as you swim.

Great Product for Adding Music to Swim Workouts
I have used bone conduction and in-ear MP3 players for my swim workouts over the past five years. Personally, I prefer the in-ear players even though the headphone jack is susceptible to water damage. I have been using the SEWOBYE MP3 player since August 2022 (~7 months). I am using the Swimbuds Sport waterproof headphones. I find that these headphones fit and work much better than the one that ships with the player. The SEWOBYE has worked well until a week ago. It stopped playing music after 2-3 minutes. I contacted SEWOBYE support and they responded within 24 hours with several steps to take to correct the issue. One of the recommendations is to try the second USB cable that ships with the unit. Apparently, these cables can go bad after a period of time. My suspicion is that the salt and chlorine pool water damages (oxidation) the cable (i.e., the 3.5mm plug) over a period of time. The plug picks up the salt and chlorine when it is inserted into the unit's headphone jack for charging and music downloads. I do dry out the unit before recharging. I also use a small swab to clean and dry out the headphone jack. Nevertheless, I still had this problem with the unit. Following the helpful instructions from the support technician I recharged the unit with a new cable and reset the unit (40-second press of the on/off button). Presto, the unit now plays music again without stopping as it did before. This is a very budget friendly solution for adding music to my swim workouts. I enjoy the small size and function of this player and have been pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the support team. I do recommend this product with the caveat that it requires some care and maintenance. In particular, I suggest washing the unit, headphone cable and USB cable with fresh water after each use and thoroughly drying all components. Also, use a small cotton swab to dry out the headphone jack. If you are having trouble with your unit, try using the second USB cable that ships with the product. As I mentioned earlier, these cables (i.e., the 3.5mm plug) can degrade over time. Enjoy your workouts!

Good product and service
I swim every day. To keep me company in the water, I have used for a long time a bone conduction waterproof headphone. But it is not perfect. Bubbles from breathing and water movement around your ears make the enjoyment of good music or spoken word difficult. You also have to plug your ears very well or quality of sound will be even worse. The design of this product offers a good solution to both problems. Sound quality is GOOD, not so affected by the water, and the earphones PLUG already your ears. I mount the player on my goggles strap, behind my head and I am ready to go. 8GB are enough for a lot of songs or books. I was afraid that the hole for the jack of the headphones would eventually doom the water tightness of the player but I have had it for a while and it is still working flawlessly. I can see how it is well engineered in all aspects, hw, controls,, manual, instructional video. Even if it is recommended to put 48 hours of drying time between pool sessions, I use it every day with no issue. I just follow strictly the drying instruction and let the player and heaphone be in open air the entire time I am not using it. Also: I have interacted by email with Jenny at Customer Support. She was prompt and professional in handling my initial issues with one channel of the sound randomly going off. Kudos to Sewobye for this too. The only improvement I can think of is to have some way to wrap excess headphone wire to the body of the player. The picture shows how I do it now. This is a positive review triggered by a good product and no other incentive of any kind. I usually only write negative reviews as they are also the only ones I read before buying things.

Pleasantly surprised with this MP3 player for swimming
I've had many, many iPod shuffles for swimming over the years. My last one just died and I tried several options and am happy to report the Sewobye is my new favorite. I have tried devices 3 times the price and the Sewobye is very reasonably priced. It's small. Has a clip that securely attaches to the back of my goggle straps. Was easy to transfer MP3 music files from my iMac to the device. Yes I'm old school and since I already had the MP3 files and playlists didn't need to get a fancier device that'll work with Spotify or Amazon Music Unlimited where I'd need to pay a monthly fee and update the playlist every 30 days. It has an indicator light that will tell me when the battery is getting low and I need to recharge it. Also has shuffle mode which is an essential feature for me. I'm using Swimbuds Sport earphones so the sound quality is good & I know fit me well. I can't speak to the earphones that come with the device. Overall it's a keeper. 6/28/24 UPDATE: This MP3 is a beast and has survived a New England winter sitting in my car in the cold - something the Apple iPod shuffle could never do. The battery did die last week and Sewobye customer service tried to help me troubleshoot but the battery could not be resuscitated. They did not hesitate to send out a replacement unit very quickly under the 1 year warranty. You cannot go wrong with this MP3 player! 11/16/24: I've had the replacement Sewobye for a couple months now and it's worked flawlessly. I'm happier with this than I was with the Apple iPod and several MP3 devices that have come out recently. I think I've tried them all. The has all the features I need and you can't beat the price and I got excellent customer service via Jenny.

Bad luck or piece of garbage?
Update: The Company seems serious about customer service so I'm upgrading this from 1 to 3 stars. They immediately responded to my email and then the review with attempts to fix the issue with the device. Despite the recommendations, I could not get the device to work, so it is getting returned. Perhaps, I was unlucky enough to get a faulty device (the first one I ordered got lost in transit so perhaps I've just had bad luck). I rarely write reviews and most people seem to have a good experience with this but I have not. I was able to connect the device to my computer and it instantly recognized the computer and the computer recognized it. It opened as a D:/ removable drive. This the second waterproof MP3 player I have had so I am familiar with converting songs in iTunes, although I did appreciate the instructions which were not available with the first device I owned. I immediately began to start transferring songs from the computer. However, after transferring about 5 songs, I received a message that the D:/ drive had been removed or deleted. The device was then no longer showing up. I removed the device and re-connected. However, now when I plug it in, neither the device recognizes the computer or the computer opens the device. I have also just tried plugging it into a USB charger to charge and I do not see a blinking light that indicates that it is charging. I have tried two different computers (neither of which recognize the device); both charging cables provided in the package and multiple USB chargers in my home. No lights and no connected device. I was excited about taking this swimming but I was not even able to add songs without a problem. I did email the company so I will update if they can make this device or if they can make it right by replacing it. But looks like I may be going back to the Syryn waterproof MP3 player which lasted 5 years!

A good quality, clear sounding, easy functioning device & excellent customer service
I've been swimming w/the Sewobye MP3 player for almost 2 years and love it. It's the first and only waterproof MP3 player I bought, so I cant compare it to others, however, I dont need to because I'm very happy with it. I swim anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes, and the battery lasts multiple swims, but I charge it every other swim or two, that is after waiting for it to dry. 24 hours is all I found it to need, and just to be safe, you can use a blow dryer to make sure the audio port is dry. Their website has detailed instructions, video, and tips on how to take care of your device; beyond the scope of the user manual. I cant swim w/o it, it keeps my ADHD mind entertained w/plenty of audiobooks and songs. And, no more listening to repeated, overplayed gym speaker songs, yay! If the playlist bores me, no problem, it's super simple to transfer files onto the player, by copy & pasting files through File Explorer. A minor problem, but easy fix is that sometimes when plugged in during transfer, I lose connectivity and my computer won't recognize the device, but all I have to do is play around with the cord & USB port connector to get it going again. If I want to change songs or volume while swimming, it's easy to locate the raised buttons w/just your hands, and keep swimming. The ear buds are snug, inner ears stay dry & buds never fall out, not even during lap flips. Just as important as drying out your MP3 player is to please make sure you register your device online! Dont forget, do it after purchase because if you register your product, the 1 year warranty get extended to 2!! I'm having issues w/mine now, can't get it powered up, and customer support has been wonderful with assisting me. Any email I sent they have gotten back to me within less than 24 hours. Cant wait to get back in the pool!

Great product and even better service
I ordered and used this product for about 6 months. It was amazing as a waterproof MP3 player which I used extensively when swimming. The battery lasted ages and ages (about 10 hours) and the sound quality was superb underwater and when used in the gym. It was easy to put music on and take music off as it connect via a USB cable and just shows up as another drive - so it's easy to move mp3 files onto it or take mp3 files off of it. Ity has a normal mode and a shuffle mode and it's very easy to skip tracks or go backwards or even fast forward or rewind within a track Unfortunately, for some known reason it developed a fault and stopped being recognised by the computer after 6 months. I do not mark it down for this (see why next) because any one item of a product can have a latent fault and I guess I was just unlucky. I have not heard of anyone else with this product having this fault. However, I contacted the seller via Amazon and asked them to fix it under the 1 year warranty it comes with. In amazing service, they just sent me a working replacment by return of post!!! That is what I call service! I have been very impressed with the product and very impressed with the service from the seller. 5 stars all round. The music quality underwater is really really good. I usually download about 300 songs and put them on shuffle so I have a random order playing. I'm really happy with this product and with the seller (who actually cares about customers, based on my experience) and would definitely recommend this clever little device and this seller. I love this product.

Tolles Produkt!
