Sherlock Holmes and the speckled band - A Mystery Jigsaw Puzzle

We had great fun with this jigsaw. As there was no picture to follow, it made it even more interesting: especially trying to guess what various areas were. We got a bit addicted to it and even managed to solve the crime without cheating. Probably going to buy another one!

Gift for my puzzle mad mum. Wanted to get her something a bit different and she loved it

This is a lovely picture, if you like Victorian interiors and objects. The jigsaw itself is high quality, well cut interlocking pieces and high resolution, vivid picture. The mystery itself is one of Conan Doyles original stories so we half remembered the solution having read it in the past. The details of parts of the solution (the relevance of the objects in the picture) were beyond me, even after I read the solution it all seemed a little far fetched, that is Conan Doyles fault rather than the puzzles. We were hoping for something a little more of a logical progression of clues to a solution as with the Ravensburg Escape room puzzles. Still, if you like Holmes and Victoriana it is worth getting.

Purchased as a gift for Christmas for a friend who enjoys jigsaws. He was very impressed with the gift and thought was of a good quality. Arrived punctually, was well wrapped and made an impressive gift. Recommended. Thank you.

I would adder a picture of the finished item but that would be a bit of a spoiler. Quite a complex puzzle with random size and shape pieces. Bigger than your average 1000 piece puzzle... 7 hours to complete. The Sherlock Holmes factor quite interesting... but not nessercary.

Difficult puzzle with no picture to help. And disappointingly the finished jigsaw doesn’t tell you the answer you have to read the encrypted last page of the booklet instead. The quality is good and there were no missing pieces .

This was bought as a Christmas present for a jigsaw addict who is also a Sherlock fan so perfect gift. It has not been used yet but having noted other reviewers comments I warned the recipient about where the answer was printed and in this it was at the back if the booklet.

The best puzzle I've ever had, interesting story and fun to put together :)

This was a fun activity to do with family over the holidays. It was challenging enough to keep all my family members engaged for a few days. It would definitely make a fun gift for a family.

Jigsaw had good challenge. The solution was more obscure

I found the mystery picture of the puzzle not matching with the case. However, I spent quality times play with my puzzle. The delivery time was fair, well-packed, and the quality of the pieces it's pretty hard. I didn't like the mystery answer though, not much explanatory. I guess this is it. If you are a puzzle lover like me, you won't regret it.

Really enjoyed this puzzle! I especially liked that the story seems to be the unabridged version from the original author. You get a good story and an intriguing puzzle in one. The puzzle does not show the solution but instead shows clues from the story itself with additional added hints to lead you to the conclusion of the mystery. The puzzle also adds objects and colorful patterns that were not represented in the story but made for a much more satisfying and interesting puzzle to work with. I read the story, puzzled, put the puzzle together while puzzling and then reread the story and the solution was evident to me. My only caveat was having to read the remainder of the story in the mirror (written backward to encrypt the answer) to see how it all ended.
