Help** A: I have some trouble too, what I have found works best is to have the area around the overflow completely dry. Then start the tub flow and just wet the suction cups, not the whole thing. Then I put it around and start sealing from the bottom to the top, working kind of from the very bottom and in both directions until I meet back up again at the top. Sometimes it takes a little to get, but I've found if the area I'm trying to stick to is wet, as well as the suction cups, it doesn't go. Hope that helps! My tub is form the 1940s** A: I have an old tub also (1949) with that type of drain with the handle over it and it works on mine. It just barely fits over the handle depth-wise, but it does work. The cover is 2 inches deep, so if you have a handle that doesn't stick out more than 2 inches from the tub surface you should be able to use it.
