I've been using this in my coffee for several years now and, if nothing else, had great reviews from my hairdresser about how fast my hair was growing with it. Can't say I noticed any difference in joint pain levels but the hair seemed to like it. About 3 or 4 orders ago, I started to notice the occasional black speck in the powder. I'd fish it out and use the powder as normal. This continued for the past 3 or 4 orders but today I found a bunch of the black stuff in my canister (see the photo) and that was the final straw. I don't know if it is bits of bugs or what but I'm not putting that stuff in my coffee any more. I'll no longer be ordering this, at least from this company.

I have used this collagen for years. Sometimes buying it from Amazon and other times right from Great Lakes. I just opened a can from Amazon and cannot believe the difference! The can was only partially full to begin with. I used two scoops, as usual, and immediately noticed that it did not mix as well. I always put it in my coffee in the morning. When I drank it, I noticed that it had a beef flavor to it, and I still have an after taste. I am disappointed with this. I have always enjoyed this collagen and the benefits for my joints and skin. I will finish the can, but am not sure I will order another one from here. I was hoping this can would be different than all of the other recent reviews I have read, but unfortunately it was not. The older reviews are wonderful when there was no taste and it mixed like a breeze. Please Great Lakes, go back to how you made your previous powder prior to the changes you made. Believe me, they are not for the better!

Background first: I am a 42 year old average weight and activity level woman and had been experiencing extreme joint pain in my elbows and knees for several months and was feeling feeling desperate when I decided to try this as recommended by my sister (I don't have insurance so was hoping for non prescription solution first). I received this on May 11(today is June 4). The first day I started on 1 tablespoon room temperature water (I recommend this or hot water....even though it says it disolves in cold water, my experience is that it clumps). The first serving I did have rumbling in my tummy, but no adverse effects--I never experienced the rumbling again after the first serving. The next morning when I took it (1 tbs) I noticed an immediate difference in my energy level that day. After that, I started taking the recommended dosage (2 tbs twice a day).After only 2 weeks, I noticed a HUGE difference in my joints. I live in NYC, and going up and down subway and apartment building stairs had become a painful and difficult issue for me, as was often just getting out of bed, but after just 2 weeks of using this, most of my pain in all joints is GONE. I am so amazed!!And GRATEFUL!! It is not 100%, but a million times better, and I so look forward to continued improvement. An incredible added bonus is I have also dropped a few pounds (honestly without trying, but I believe the protein helps supress appetite thus less snacking) and the difference in my skin is very noticeable!!! I so wish I had taken before and after photos. Lines are greatly diminished and the puffiness and darkness on under my eyes is much less. And I am sleeping so much better. This stuff is really a miracle to me. If you want to see big results, I recommend taking the full recommended dosage.

I did a lot of research on collagen before purchasing anything. Great, great product. While I haven't tried putting this in my hot tea, I do put it in my protein shakes every morning. It makes my shake a lot more creamy looking, if that makes sense. It also comes as a fine powder. I tried putting it in my cold tea since it says it disables in cold water. Uh, yeah about that. MOST of it dissolved. What did not, left me traumatized when I sucked it up thru my yeti straw & I had to mentally tell myself it was just a strawberry bc otherwise I would have vomited. Not from taste, but the idea that I just sucked up a glob of beef collagen. *shudder*I have horrible arthritis. My joints take a beating. I'm only 36, but I have 4 kids & I'm a track coach. I have noticed tremendous relief in my shoulders, knees, & hips. That's been huge for me. However, the completely accepted, though slightly irritating side effects of collagen are hair growth. I suddenly have a lot of shaving needs lol. My armpit hair grows ridiculously fast as well as my legs. I have noticed that I haven't had many skin irritations at all, which was something I'd have when I have shaved this much. I'm talking daily, as opposed to 4x a week for my armpits. Sorry if that's tmi, but as a woman doing research, no one was specific & I was really wanting to know these kinda of details. LOLI will continue using this product. I notice my husband feels better & he says his joints don't hurt when he runs. He doesn't notice anything about hair he said lol. Good luck!

I’ve been looking for a supplement that supports healthy hair and skin since I’ve been having a few skin issues lately. It’s so hard to find a collagen supplement that isn’t packed with a list of ingredients I don’t understand. So I was super happy to find this product. This collagen supplement contains collagen type 1&3 and a healthy dose of vitamin c too! No added unnecessary ingredients. And the bottle is so modern and stylish, I can’t bear to hide it away in the cupboard with my other supplements! :)

These collagen capsules are not 2000mg each. They are in fact 500mg each. One serving is four capsules providing 2000mg. Misleading advertising in review comments.

Was recommended this product by a friend as i've had brittle hair for a while and thought i'd give it a go. Swift delivery, great looking product and enough for a 2 month supply. No bad taste from the capsules, looking forward to seeing the positive effects!
