Best I've tried
I've tried a few of these products from other vendors, and found this Kronos product to be the highest quality among all those I tried. In addition, I had a small problem with the hot weather in my area and when it was delivered I knew the shelf life was compromised. I explained this to the Seller and they were very responsive, and helpful. I was very satisfied with the help they provided. I would certainly buy from them again and do recommend this Seller.

Update review - donโt buy this. Itโs not coming from Kronos.
The gyro meat taste the same as the ones I buy at restaurants and to have this delivered at home is very convenient. When you are cooking the meat, they will cook faster than you think. For my stove, medium heat works well. I like that the gyro meat comes in five- one pound bags so I can cook in portion size that I need. Update: I repurchased this product. It arrived today May 14, 2020. There was no ice pack and the meat was warm. It came from Basil Grocery with lotion all around the lid and the lotion for onto the packaging. Amazon will not let me return the gyro meat. The meat is warm and gross. The gyro did not come in individual 1 lb packing. It meat is in 1 bag and I canโt tell the weight.

Flavor good, but not stellar. Shipping is a risk.
First off, the flavor is certainly not bad, but definitely not the gyro meat I grew up with at my local gyro joint. That is obviously subjective, and my opinion, so take that at face value. I agree with one of the other reviews that it is on the bland side for something as iconic as gyro meat. I wish it had a little more seasoning. On to shipping. Several of the other reviews on this product state that it came completely thawed or even room temperature, such that they were afraid to consume it. For the purchase I made, the seller gave two day shipping. I had no say-so in this when I purchased the product, as there was no option to overnight it. This is a somewhat questionable practice in my opinion. I got lucky, in that mine actually arrived in two days. As you can see from the picture, it still had a little frost on the slices from the interior of the pack, but the edges were cold, technically, but borderline, not refrigerated. It came in a cold wrap, but no ice packs or dry ice. If this had been delayed by a day, I would imagine the entire pack would have been room temperature, and I probably would have thrown the whole thing away without risking it. I feel like I just got lucky that it arrived on schedule. Definitely something to keep in mind for a future purchase. Mine came in a bulk bag of five pounds, rather than five individual, one pound packs. Several reviews on here seemed to comaim about that. That wasn't a big issue for me. I just divided it up in Food Saver bags and vacuum sealed them for freezer storage. Value-wise, it is five pounds for a hundred bucks. Doing the math, if you load up a gyro with four ounces, which would be a huge gyro, that is twenty gyros. That is about 5 bucks per gyro, then factor in whatever a pita costs and other toppings. Other than the potential shipping issue, and not having the option to pay for overnight shipping for a perishable food product, it is not that bad. I wish it had a touch more flavor, but that is merely my opinion.

Good stuff but less costly elsewhere
Arrived today and we did a taste test. The gyro meat was all in one plastic package that was placed in a silver cooling bag. It did not arrive frozen but was cold. The weight of the meat and the clear bag it's packed in clocked in at just under 5 pounds. (It's listed and sold as 5 pounds of meat.) As for taste, we cooked up some as is, straight out of the bag. It was good but not as flavorful as we prefer. We sprinkled some Cavender's on the second batch and that made a big difference. We prefer our gyro meat to be sliced a bit thicker but that's just a personal preference. We will definitely order again, but will purchase direct from the seller's website to save about $30.

Awesom meat
For 5 pounds, you get a lot of meat and it tastes great better than most restaurants. I've eaten at. I highly recommend it.

Everyone loves it
I originally bought 10 pounds to serve at a ladies luncheon for 60 people. Everyone loved it and we still had lots of leftovers. I immediately tried to buy some for home and was surprised that it was out of stock. I basically "stalked" the product until it was in stock. Now the family is enjoying this convenient dinner once a month. Product arrived nicely packed. It arrived in the Florida heat and was left on the porch for a few hours and was still refrigerator cold when I finally got to it.

Worth
If you like gyros this is it. The amount of gyros you can make will out weigh what you pay for it.
