Great for Loose Leaf Tea Brewing
These baskets work so well! They fit any standard sized mug. The cap sits perfectly over the top, and helps retain more heat and then doubles as a place to set the basket down after brewing. The large flared handles rain cool and make it easy to lift the basket out of the mug after brewing and ensures the basket doesn't fall into the vessel. It holds a lot if tea, so you can be your tea to your chosen strength and flavor. They are easy to keep clean...just don't let the leafs dry in the basket as they will stick to the sides of the basket. Throw them in the dishwasher to get them back to gleaming. These are much better than those balls, and certainly better than getting a mouthful of microplastics from commercial tea bags. Start with one...you'll love it so much you'll get a second, maybe a third!

Just received, but so far it’s great
I just got this infuser, but so far it is a pleasure to use. I was replacing a ball type infuser with a spring hinge and handle that has seen better days after years of use. I was looking for something to use for years to come. Spent a bit of time researching. I like the silicone lining of the handles and lid. It seems durable, relatively mess free, easy to fill and clean, and provides a nice brewing experience. It’s a fairly decent size - this could be a positive or negative depending on your expectations and use. Might require a slightly larger mug, but I imagine is ok for smaller cups - you just might have to have several smaller servings. So far so good.

Does what I paid for
Bigger then I thought, I specificity bought this for chamomile tea because you need to cover the mug to get the benefit’s so when I couldn’t cover the whole mug I was a bit bummed but it still covered enough to not be that big of a deal nothing I can’t fix with some tin foil and still is what I paid for and if you specifically want this to not sink completely in your mug this is for you absolutely 5 stars

Really like this infuser for ease of use
I purchased several brands of tea infusers and thought I wouldn't like this but I DO LIKE this product. I tried this against a cylinder and ball style of food grade steel tea infusers. This is the one I liked for it's ease of use. There are no caps to thread on to like the others which is nice for my older hands. The rubber edge makes it easy to pick up. The larger opening makes it easy to clean. I do use whole leaf loose teas and this has a very large capacity with tons of space for expansion of product. I was also pleasantly surprised that it really did not change how much water I could get in each cup. I will say that I use a large size 16 ounce mug which it sits in nicely. If you use petite mugs, this might be a problem. All of the tea infusers I tried did leave a slight bit of tea dust in the bottom of mug despite any claims any of them had about the size of holes or mesh. I have never had one that didn't. Although I like the size, I did have to find space for it in my tea drawer and lay it on it's side. I liked that the top piece covered the tea while steeping and then flipped to hold the infuser easily. I would buy this again and am considering it as a gift to a friend.

Versatile & ergonomic
Product: OXO Tea Infuser Basket Rating 4/5 (exellent) OXO is known for good quality, ergonomic and reasonably priced kitchen tools, and this tea infuser fits nicely within that paradigm. Likes: + Tabs: They're wide enough to fit both medium and large mugs, as well as old fashioned ceramic tea pots of varying sizes. + Roomy: Its wide enough and deep enough to work well with a wide variety of sizes of mugs and teapots. I bought this for use with a 3 pt ceramic teapot (mostly for Assam, Gunpowder and Puer'h), but it also works fine in 12 and 16 oz mugs, and as long as the liquid level stays below the level of the tabs, it even works in a saucier pan for infusing broths and sauces. + Strainer: the perforations in the stainless steel basket are fine enough to handle not just loose tea, but tea fannings as well Dislikes: + Perforations: Most tea aficianados tend to prefer whole leaf tea (either loose, rolled ala gunpowder or compressed ala puer'h) over that of fannings (tea dust, which is why tea bags exist), but it's nice to have a strainer that's fine enough to handle both. The only drawback of I an extra fine strainer is that it reduces infusion efficienctly somewhat, because your hot water doesnt convect as freely as it could through the walls of the basket. As a result, ive found it best to periodically 'tea bag' the basket up & down a few times, in order to get optimal extraction, esp when infusing in larger teapots. + Lid: The lid can be inverted to double as a tea caddy, which is nice, but I wish there was a way to lock it in place, and perhaps attach a dunking chain, so that it could be fully submerged in larger vessels. Verdict: A solid value.

“Finally an Infuser That Lets Tea Leaves Fully Expand
I’ve been really impressed with this OXO tea infuser basket so far. The biggest standout feature for me is the width of the basket—it’s noticeably wider than most infusers, which gives loose leaf tea plenty of room to fully expand. That actually makes a difference in flavor, especially if you’re using higher-quality full leaf teas instead of broken pieces or dust. The build feels solid and well-designed, and it sits nicely in a mug without feeling flimsy or top-heavy. The fine mesh does a good job keeping even smaller particles out of the cup, which I appreciate. I also put together a short video showing how I use it and why the wider basket matters for steeping—worth checking out if you’re comparing options. Overall, if you drink loose leaf tea regularly, this is a simple upgrade that improves the experience without overcomplicating things.

Solid buy; no complaints
We had one of those ball diffusers and wanted to upgrade to something less annoying to use and that wouldn't wear so hard over time. After struggling to find the Teavana basket my mom has, I settled on this one, trusting OXO as I do. We've been using our two baskets for six months. I'm pleased so far and feel the quality justifies the price. Some things I really like: 1. As tall as this basket is, I've only had it not fully fit inside a single mug of mine, which is short and wide compared to normal mugs. (It's the PIGGAL mug set from IKEA.) Even then, that didn't impair its function. 2. The lid! I set my used basket in it to keep the counter clean. I also use it to help keep heat in while steeping, especially if I'm steaming/frothing milk. 3. The holes are very fine. I drink all kinds of loose leaf teas--rooibos/herbal; green, white, and black blends; oolong--and I get a good steep every time without taking on any bits and pieces. 4. Painless to clean by hand. (I drink tea every day, so I can't afford to wait on the timing of the dishwasher running!) 5. Good capacity. A teaspoon or two is a drop in the bucket for these baskets.

game changer
This tea infuser basket has been a game changer for me. It's very easy to clean, and when I brew loose leaf tea, hardly any tea leaves end up in my cup. It also fits perfectly on every mug and cup I've tried. If you drink a lot of loose leaf tea, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
