YOUCAT: Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church

This is exactly what customers are looking for. Well scripted and easily available for a very reasonable price. Good value for money. A must have book for the family collection.

A must-have. Anyone looking to either complete RCIA or brush up on their catechism is encouraged to read this FIRST. It covers all the material whilst not being onerous, and is guaranteed to provide a new insight every time it is opened. It is structured in exactly the same way as the regular catechism, and gives ample scriptural references, as well as references from other authors including contemporary philosophers and theologians. Additionally, it very helpfully provides cross-reference to other sections within the YouCat and the full CCC. I am not ashamed to say that if I need to look something up, I go to this first.

As a Catholic, although I've learn about my faith at school, being at a later stage of my life, this was a great way to reflect and revisit the facts. I became aware of the book as my 13 year old nephew was recommended this on his reading list at school. I think it is useful even for a person of a different faith who is interested in learning about Catholicism/Christianity. It is one to dip into from time to time and as there aren't may books like this written in every day language, it was a useful find.

Much as I like the standard version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and I am a theologian, it is not appropriate for general catechesis because the language is still theological. Youcat fills the catechetical slot admirably for all age groups being attractively presented with illustrations, interesting marginal quotes, accessible language, and is cross-referenced to the standard Catechism. If anyone finds the standard version rather too much, buy Youcat without hesitation and learn more about the Catholic faith.

Bought this Youcat Book for my daughter! It's really great and very helpful for youngster and also for all the growth in catholic faith and more understanding!!!

Bought this for my teenage boy that was going through the confirmation program and had lots of questions. He read it from cover up cover then lent it to his friend! It uses plain and up to date language and explains things well.
