Sustainability For the Win
Very happy with these hair ties. I first found them on Life Without Plastic, but bought them here because I needed them in a hurry. I went with the black ones. They are great! I like that they fit loosely and comfortably around my wrist, and nice and tight around my hair. My hair is probably a little on the thin side, and I wrap it around a ponytail 3 times. They seem at least as durable as what I was using before. I’m not super-obsessed with the ins and outs of hair tie performance... these work, so I’m happy with that. The main thing I focus on these days with new purchases is the impact they have on the environment and people/workers on both the production end and after use. On that front, these are where it’s at. Organic cotton is good for the earth and farmers in a big way (see: The True Cost film), and natural rubber is a renewable resource that will eventually biodegrade (probably not anytime soon in a landfill environment, but still). The fact that they are ethically made by a company that has all these issues on its radar makes this an easy choice. As far as I know in 2019, there’s no other company making this type of product available in the US with these values. I really find it imperative to support companies that make these types of commitments to sustainability. It’s the only way to ensure that they grow. It’s kind of amazing that someone had to go so far out of the way to make this type of product sustainable & plastic-free, but it just goes to show how entrenched the use of harmful, overly durable substances is in every tiny thing currently in mass production. It’s important to question and look for alternatives. Anyway, I’m so glad someone bothered. I’ll be getting more, probably the colorful ones next time.

Decent Hair Ties
I am genuinely impressed by their performance and eco-friendly design. One of the standout features is their flat design. Unlike traditional round hair ties, these lay flat against the hair, preventing that awkward bulge and ensuring a sleek, polished look. Whether you're creating a casual ponytail or an intricate updo, these flat hair ties offer versatility without compromising style. Comfort is another highlight of these hair ties. The soft, gentle grip keeps my hair secure without causing tension headaches or damaging my strands. I appreciate how they manage to strike the perfect balance between hold and comfort. One thing I would change is that they stretched just a tad more, but overall I really like them!

The most virtuous product one can buy!
I feel blessed to find a product that is completely earth friendly! The wonderful people at this company has thought of every detail to make their flat hair ties perfect. I have very fine long hair with a mind of its own, it tangles and breaks very easily. It is such a pleasure to use these ties because they don’t grab and tangle my tender tresses. Also the flat style holds my hair better, not squeezing it. I can even put my hair up high, previously my hair was too heavy for that. I am so happy with the way they work I am giving a few to friends. Being an environmentalist since before the first Earth Day back it the 70s, I have long believed in voting with my dollars. It is such a joy to find a product made with the earth in mind, the crafts people (which I believe are nuns in India) are Fair Trade, every ingredients is natural, eco friendly—a truly perfect product. It gives me hope for the world knowing there are such conscious people in the world!

Better than expected!
I was really hesitant to buy these based on some of the reviews showing a lot of wear and tear happening very quickly after purchase, BUT after I started using these I realized that those experiencing so much wear and tear so quickly must be stretching these hair ties SO hard. I have A LOT of hair and need my bands pretty tight to keep it all contained, but I have not had any issues with these bands. I'm very happy with my purchase and glad that I spent the extra $ to get a quality product that keeps plastics out of our home!

The first all-natural hair elastic?
I'm super excited to find a hair elastic that uses no petrochemicals, since I care about that kind of thing. The ethics of this company are great and I love what they are doing. So how do these stand up to use? PROS - Strong and grippy! The cotton and rubber elastic they use is sturdy and it grips the hair really well - Sized just right so you can wear it around your wrist when it's not in your hair - Well constructed: the stitched attachment point on these is carefully sewed with a reinforcing piece of fabric - Impeccably sourced materials including natural rubber and cotton elastic (no petrochemicals) CONS - Very grippy! These aren't easy to slide out of your hair. I have to work them out carefully to avoid pulling out hairs. - The white tag looks cute when it's on my wrist, but it stands out in a bad way when it's in my hair. I have dark hair and bought the black hair bands, so the white tag tends to look like a bit of trash got caught in my ponytail. An inherent issue with any rubber-based elastic, is that eventually it will stretch out too much and the tiny strands of rubber will start breaking. If you don't expose it to heat (like the dryer) and don't over-stretch it, it will last longer. Of course, synthetic hair elastics stretch out and break too, and I think these will last longer than your typical Goody elastics. When it eventually wears out, I will toss it into my compost pile and see what happens!

No tangle hair ties
The hair ties feel natural and hold my long braids in place easily. My hair does not get tangled when I take it off. Therefore, there is less breakage from a hair tie.

Great, environmentally-friendly hair ties!
I've been a fan of these ties since I bought my first set from a retailer that specializes in plastic-free merchandise. So imagine my pure delight when I found out these were available on Amazon now and in a much wider variety of colors. What's so great about these ties is in their simplicity. There's no bells and whistles, only a simple yet sophisticated look with quality, durable, environmentally friendly materials. As a runner, I use these ties religiously. I've run half marathons in all sorts of weather conditions with one of these holding up my hair, and I've not experienced a single issue. They stay where I need them to stay, yet they don't pull at my hair. And when the day finally comes (hopefully not for many years) when these ties reach the end of their lives, I can feel good knowing that the materials won't do long-term harm to the environment the way plastics do. KOOSHOO has really knocked it out of the park with these. Well done!

You win some, you lose some
There’s a lot I like and there’s a lot I don’t like. But I’ll start with the good. It’s a clean hair tie made with rubber and cotton, so it’s good for the environment. It does not damage my hair. It’s broad and flat, so I’m guessing that helps with keeping your hair damage-free. Now the bad: I can only tie it around my hair twice; no matter if I do a bun or a ponytail. Otherwise I’m scared it will either stretch too much or snap. Once it’s been stretched, I immediately noticed how much looser it was on my wrist. But not by much. All in all, it’s a great hair tie. It just isn’t 100% perfect
