I ordered two boxes since my hair is long (about halfway down my torso), and I definitely recommend doing the same if you have longer or thicker hair.For reference, my hair was previously dyed purple using box dye, and I did not lighten it before applying this product. I mixed both boxes together with 10-volume developer in a reusable dye bottle and applied it as a full-head application.The color turned out absolutely incredible a rich, vibrant, and beautiful purple that looks very professional. Honestly, this dye has completely converted me to salon-grade hair color. If you’re considering going purple, this is 100% the dye you want.The only minor downside is the very strong smell, but that’s pretty standard with salon-quality hair dye, so it didn’t bother me much.I’ve attached a photo, though it truly doesn’t do the color justice (my daughter was asleep, so I couldn’t take a better one). After rinsing with cold water only, I applied conditioner and left it in for about 5 minutes.
