This is a short book, with sports trivia facts. It is relatively straightforward to read and good for any child who loves sport and has an enquiring mind.

My kids found it interesting and entertaining and even we parents did too. Easy to dip into, and unique stories we hadn’t heard before - about all kinds of sports both modern and ancient.Hardback book, not very thick but enough pages to keep kids occupied reading for a while. Little quiz at the back to see how much they remembered!

Colourful pages filled with interesting sport trivia. This is a hardback back which is quick to read and worth re-reading.Sporting trivia includes bizarre sporting competitions such as a former Olympic sport being plunge for distance (diving into a pool and gliding forwards as far as possible in one minute) and ice golf. Other facts incorporated in this book include strange superstitions, cheats and unlikely competitors.As a sports enthusiast, I found this book fascinating. It is complemented by questions (with answers found upside down) and website references for modern televised events that can be viewed online. There is a multiple choice quiz at the end and a glossary.Easy and quick to read, I see this in a children's school library.

This is an interesting book for children who have ever wanted to know about Michael Jordan's lucky shorts, a marathon run in the desert, the way to play Quidditch in the Muggle world or about a cricket match played at low tide. It's a short 32 pages with plenty of illustrations and lots to amuse. I was pleased to see reference to both male and female athletes -but wasn't sure about some comments about paralympic athletes and blades giving runners an advantage possibly which seemed a little off kilter, but overall a good book. I'd suggest that it's a perfect library book for primary or KS3.
