Most of them clip together easily but there were a handful that didn't clip and just sat together loosely. It wasn't an issue unless someone picked it up and then the bottom would fall off but was easy to just set back together again. I spray painted these using a metallic spray paint as you would not be able to stain them like I was originally thinking.
