Fertilome (11485) Brush Killer & Stump Killer Woody Plant Control, 32 oz

On stumps with greenery, this killed the above ground green part very quickly. Nothing has grown back. I don't know how to tell definitively if the stump is dead, but I have no reason to believe they are growing back after a month. I used this with the addition of the product that helps the product stick to the plant, and that worked very well.

Treated an area under two mature oaks that had become overrun with buck thorn and locust. I used a dabbler on each freshly cut stem. I treated in May and waited to give my review it’s October now oaks seem happy and under brush is gone.

This stuff does seem to work very well to kill buckthorn. I haven't seen any new stems sprouting from stumps I've treated. I've treated several ranging from under an inch up to about 3 inches diameter. HOWEVER I have one gripe about this product that I find unacceptable. The cap is not water tight! I think it is reasonable to expect that a hazardous chemical such as this would have a cap that does not leak. I'm assuming that it is just a defect with this particular bottle and maybe my review will get the attention of someone who can do a quality control check and make sure the issue isn't widespread. I used as directed, and prompted by AI, as this will kill any plant it touches. The stumps I wanted to remove are not coming back. I wanted something that I could use among other plants, and when used carefully this does the trick. I would suggest that they applicator be included, something like a shoe polish sponge, to make it easier to apply without spilling. Easy to use, effective, and a good value for the price. Just keep it away from your grass or flowers.

Didn’t always get the job done on the first try. Had to go back and repeat the process more than once on about half of the small 3-6 inch stumps I had. Worked much better one smaller volunteer trees is 2 inches or less in diameter.

This stuff is very strong. It will kill your grass, but you may need to apply it a couple of times to your Stump.

Great Results

This did not work at all. Last October we cut all the limbs and the trunks off of 3 invasive honeysuckle bushes, then applied this immediately on the freshly cut stumps per the directions. By April they started growing back with new shoots and now in June, all are nearly same size as before we cut them back. FAIL! now I need to find a new product and start over plus its too late to request a refund, don't waste your money.
