Remember, can’t fill to 40oz just like any other teapot, has to be below max capacity.
Only have used it three times in a few days. I’ve inspected it before use as instructed and it came with a perfect finish, no dings, all in working order. It came very fast as well! It boils water very fast and works just as a gooseneck should, quite stylish, and I live the thermometer. I’d like to let people know that when you receive this product, it says you should fill it to a reasonable capacity, so while it holds 40oz, it instructs 28oz as reasonable. So it is on you if you fill it up higher and something happens but I don’t have a personal worry for filling it maybe even as high as 35oz but that is my PERSONAL OPINION. As of now it is a 5 star as well as the seller, but if things take a turn I will most certainly update my review.

PERFECT & PRACTICAL
The Soulhand Pour Over Gooseneck Kettle is the perfect size for two and most practical purchase for the cost. The design is adorable, well made with emphasis on the convenient thermometer and the handle that's safely positioned where it does not over heat. I have several kettles and teapots and this is definitely my favorite.

ok
This is replacing an old kettle that for some reason had started sputtering water out of the spout and actually blowing out the grinds from the filter. The 4 star rating is for a couple of very minor things. One is that the handle must have been made for alien beings. Most handles have finger grooves that actually fit fingers somewhat. The handle on this thing are for humans with 2 fingers and a thumb which hits your fingers just all wrong. It's like absolutely no thought whatsoever was given to human anatomy. This isn't a big deal but it is just plain irksome. There are also 2 screws on the underside which affix the handle to the pot and are kind of sharp. No biggie there though. Lastly the boiling temp indicator on the thermometer is very faint and in the morning sometimes in low light and without having had coffee yet...duhh, is hard to see. This pot is taller and narrower than the one it replaces which was shorter and fatter at the base so this one tends to take longer to heat up. Not a problem since we're retired and time is of no consequence in the am. Also I think this pot actually has more capacity than our old one. I frequently have water left in the pot and never did with the old one so that is actually a benefit. So to finish up, this pot is pretty, seems to hold more and does a much better pour than our older one and if the handle was just improved upon this would be pretty much perfect.

Must have for coffe and tea brewing
The main purpose of this purchase is to brew a coffee by pouring. I found the control of the flow is really easy to master. It has done the job well. Plus the handler is not hot. Another noticeabe thing right away is the quality of built, and the boiling is seem so fast and the heat is well mainted. I love this part too. I also found thermometer is very useful because I also use it to brew different tea, like green tea, black tea, oolong. Those needs different boiling temperature, once it is come to temperature I need and I can watch it out. If I overboil, I can just let it sit untill temperatue I want. This kettle serve the best for brewing of coffee and tea.

Great kettle
Solid construction and attractive. Water heats to a boil fairly quickly, and the thermometer is very accurate across its full range, as compared to a digital instant-read that I used. No complaints yet.My kettle makes an ethereal sound from the start of heating until full boil. Maybe that is why it is called "Soulhand." Also, it is difficult to empty the last of the water to allow it to dry. A towel is needed for this task.

Nice Design, Mixed Performance
So what others have reported are very accurate. If you use this on an induction burner/stove it smokes and has a burned plastic smell—similar to what a new low-end non-stick pan might smell like on first use. The smell is not present when using a gas burner. The smell and smoking does abate somewhat but it is very concerning. The kettle does heat up very quickly and the thermometer is accurate and helpful. The matte black finish is quite well done, but I can see that it might start to chip over time since it is not enameled on—especially if you use high heat.As a response to some other reviews that try to blame the user on the smoking issue, the problem persists no matter how much water you have. The instructions say to only use 28 oz. max in the 40 oz. unit so please don't fill it all the way up.

Good coffee kettle
I've only used this a few times but I really like it so far. I like that it's not a huge kettle and the pouring spout is great. I'm making coffee for one person so the size is great and if I want more I can quickly heat up another pot and have a fresh cup. I have an electric stove and the bottom is the exact size of my small burner which I think is great as well as the handle has never gotten hot from being partially over a burner. And it's a cool feature. I use it for pour over coffee and for tea. Being able to have the right temperature for the water is a wonderful feature and is actually what led me to buy this.
