Pretty classy
I'll keep this brief.Community Service is to Crystal Method what the Dirtchamber Sessions are to the Prodigy. They're a selection of the tracks which have influenced the members of the respective bands, lovingly remixed into one long high-quality set.I would have to say, in my humble opinion, forgetting who's responsible for the original music, this, as a Crystal Method album, is well up there with their best.Full of spunky rhythm and sharp beats, Community Service still sounds like Crystal Method but with enough variety to give it a distinct edge.Lots of colourful and interesting samples amalgamate together in a great cacophony of catchy drums and sounds and the whole thing just works darn well.Highly recommended.

The name of the game
America. Sadly, it's hardly known for cutting edge dance music these days. The sounds coming from New York and Detroit seem shuffling in comparison to their European counterparts. Which is why they need more ambassadors like these. The Crystal Method, a sort of 'American Chemical Brothers' you might say, have in recent years come out with some good meaty dance music. Their first foray into the realm of the mix-CD (so suffocated with ubiquitous-tracks-merely-in-different-order these days) comes off nicely. Purveyors of what the media still insists on calling 'Techno' on their albums, here fuse over an hours' worth of cutting-edge breakbeat with various other dance/alternative styles and their own distinctive sound. Only available on import at the moment (I bought it whilst over in the USA) it certainly deserves a full release over here.Okay so there's the odd duff track, but some absolute blinders more than outweigh the times they narrowly miss the mark. Stir Fry's 'Breakin On The Streets', the Plump DJ's reworking of Orbital and the soaring, spectacular Hybrid remix of TCM's own 'Name Of The Game' are worth the price alone. If you're a fan of TCM, breakbeat or simply want to know where the real pioneers of dance lie these days, this is essential.

TCM have done it again...
there aren't any words in the world to describe Ken & Scott. the two are more to me than the chemical brothers, they concentrate more on breakbeat tracks, that are designed to get your foot tapping, and your head nodding rather than the layer of abuse of the chemical brothers. it's a known fact that if the europeans were to take on the americans in a vs DJ match up the europeans would come out on top everytime. but if the americans can produce artist like TCM, Moby, Hybrid, they are in with a chance for the future. this album continues with TCM's awesome follow up through Tweekend Advance.'Community Service' concentrates more on mixing lyrics in with breakbeats more than vegas or tweekend did. with remixes of P.O.D & Rage against the machine you can see that the crystal method are evolving there style of music, and the entire album 0wns.i just hope these two never die...LONG LIVE 'The Crystal Method' !!

Boom !

オービタルとP.O.D.とレイジが一堂に会するコンピなんてそうそうないですよ!

Crystal Method plus
I have found this to be my favorite Crystal Method album of all. While I really like both Tweekend and Vegas, I sometimes find the songs to be too similar and repetitive. But as a mix disc, Community Service gets the balance just right for me: the solid Crystal Method groove throughout, but with a greater range of styles. There are a couple tracks from their earlier albums but they really do the job with their mixes of other artists like Orbital, Dastrix, and my favorite track P.O.D.'s "Boom" -- a slamming break-remix of an originally plodding alternative song. An excellent disc throughout; I hope they will mix some more.

Awesome CD!!!!!
After hearing some of the songs on the "Community Service" music CD by the Crystal Method many times on Youtube.com, I thought I would purchase it online. I'm glad I did. Some of many favorite songs on this track include: "Cake Hole", "Curveball", "Name of the Game (Hybrid's LA Blackout Remix)", "Boom", and "The Red Pill". Even though this CD is over ten years old, I think it's a great CD. And I plan to buy "Community Service 2" along with a few more CDs by The Crystal Method.

It's a music CD
It's a music CD. I like the Crystal Method so I bought this CD. Not what I was expecting but I listen to it from time to time. It is a compilation album with various bands and types of dance/techno/trans music. Okay I suppose.

Meh
I like three for four songs on here. Maybe in time some others will grow on me. It happens. Like Garbage and POD remixes best.

Not like C.M. at all really
This is not on nearly the same calaber as albums like Las Vegas, so don't expect it to rock out one's mind as such. I even ended up throwing my copy in the trash as useless!

This iss an excellent example of electronica styled music. The energy of the music makes it great for working out.
