Beautiful Design and Practical
This is my 4th purchase over more than 16 years of buying these mats from Pimpernel. They are a composite wood with cork backing. Great mat for table. Each lasted 4 years with kids in house. I love the variety of designs and easy to wipe clean.

Disappointed
No top on box. Put heavy duty shipping tape ON the surface of one of the placemats! The tops have very thin decorative paper. I’m sure they would not be stain resistant. Any moisture would make a big stain.Not durable! I have 4 sets of these placements and they ALL were very sturdy! Sad because I liked the mats.

Beautiful addition to my table decor
The colours work beautifully, they are bright but not overly stated. Elegant! I'm looking forward to seeing how they stand up to every day use. So far I'm loving them and expect them to last for many years!

Style over substance
I loved the contemporary design of these placemats. However I've been using them now for a few months, 2-3 times a week. I give them a wipe with a damp cloth after each use, and then dry them with a soft cloth. As you can see from the pictures, the edges have become "stained", either from the light wipe they receive, or from oil from food, it seems. The last set of placemats I had, which I looked after in the same way, lasted 19+ years, and the only reason for getting rid was because they were dated. Very disappointed with this purchase.
