not bad for the price
You get what you pay for, but with a little patience, these are not all that bad. Yes, the float fills with water, due to a design flaw, but the fix is easy. The float unscrews from the valve. clean up or drill out a hole in the end and reassemble with a 5/16in i.d. o-ring. problem solves. Instead of half a roll of teflon tape to attach the hose fitting, another o-ring to the rescue - a 3/4in o.d. to be precise, makes it water tight. And one of my two did not work at all until I discovered that the water outlet hole was filled with plastic chips and needed to be redrilled. But for only $4.50 a piece, and for the compact size, they are doing the job just fine.

Perfect for Water Fountain
This float works great. I've tried various versions, but this one seems to be the most reliable. I use it in my backyard water fountain. The fountain has a 12 gallon above ground base, and then brass cups that are spaced vertically above the base. (I got it from a well-known big box store.) I attached the float to an empty water jug, and weighted the jug with rocks so that the float is at the right height. Water is gravity fed from a rainwater barrel, so this float is perfect for maintaining just enough water for the pump without overflowing.

Not good!
I thought that they would be great for the chicken water trough. They leaked on the sides and they are getting stuck in the opening and closing position.

Definitivamente son como para tanque de escusado o pecera, algo así. El tupo es muy angosto, como media pulgada (no los tengo a la mano para medir exactamente). El caso es que pensaba usarlos para el tinaco y al menos para eso ni de chiste. Podrían funcionar porque se ven fuertes y de buen material, pero lo dicho, el flujo de agua es una cosa de nada.
