Wow, I really love this map. I've been searching for just the right map of Middle Earth for quite a long time and here I've found an unusual map you wont find in all your friends' hobbit holes. I didn't want your average movie poster, I wanted something nicer, something truly worth framing and hanging on the wall for (possibly) decades, I doubt I'll ever stop loving everything related to Tolkien's Middle Earth and I'll always be glad I have a map like this to display. Do NOT, however, think you are going to just pin this up on the wall as it is much too fragile and really requires a frame, otherwise it's not going to last and will rip and tear in no time. A frame will be money well spent though, you'll have much more than a movie poster on your wall, you'll have a work of art. A few have complained about the red line tracing Frodo's journey to Mordor, but I wasn't bothered by it in the least and think it's funny that anyone would be as it doesn't look distracting or detract from the rest of the map in any way IMHO. It's smaller than your average poster, but still looks fantastic on the wall by my bookcase, very classy. It's exactly as described, very old-looking parchment type paper, very thin and again, easily damaged. Authentic looking, almost like a movie prop or something, and I bet I never see another one of these hanging on anyone's wall I'll ever meet, and I kinda like that.

Beautiful piece. It is printed on crumbled, thin parchment. Sam and Frodo's journey is printed on it in red. My brother loved this gift. I framed it in a "floating" frame with no matting (because of it's awkward size, this was the best option). I would recommend framing because the parchment is so delicate. The parchment I received was lighter than the picture shown here- it was fairly white.I did notice that the map was printed slightly uneven on the parchment- there was a larger margin on one side of the poster. I ended up folding it slightly in the frame so that it would be centered.Overall, I am very happy with this gift.

I really want to give this product 5 stars but it just didn't quite make it. The product came rolled up in a nice thick tube keeping it well protected in transit. The parchment feels and looks great to give it a nice aged apprearance. The size was pretty accurate. I also ordered a frame to fit 26x18 artwork and it fit pretty well. I did have to fold the bottom edge around the frame backing as it was about 1/8" too tall to fit into the frame. The width was about 1/8" too short but overall it still looks great and I can't be sure if the mismatch was the frames fault of the artwork.All that being said, I am very happy with the overall appearance. I have it hung in a theater room amidst several LOTR swords from United Cutlery. My only complaint is the blurry names printed on the map. For example, looking at the Misty Mountains, it's very difficult to read the names of The Lonely Mountain, The River Running, the Elven Kings Hideout, etc. Anything written small is very hard to makeout. The image used print this map must not have been high-res enough to make these clear when blown up to this size. If you're a Tolkien fan as I am, you won't have a hard time finding the various places of interest as you likely already know where they are. But for those who want to use this as a reference of sorts, it may be difficult for you to make out the names of towns, rivers, mountains, etc.Overall it was a great purchase and I am very happy with it. Some may say the price is high for a poster, this is true. But if you look at it as a piece of artwork, $18 isn't bad at all!

This poster looks, and feels, just like described. The vintage look really adds character and matches the overall vibe of the trilogy. Elvish script surrounds the outside border; adds a nice touch. It feels very fragile. For protection, I chose to display the print in a nice, big shadow box with the ends curled up slightly. It looks more like a movie prop than a poster! It is pretty cool (in that nerdy obsessed-with-LOTR way). This was a gift for a huge fan, and (while it was hard to part with) it was a huge hit! I have absolutely no complaints...

I have loved Middle Earth for a very long time. I grew up watching The Hobbit cartoon, and dove right into The Lord of the Rings when I was told about the continuing tale. This map is an extremely satisfying piece to add to any Middle Earth fan's collection. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I read the description about this parchment map. Thoughts of images pasted onto cloth or flimsy paper came to mind. But the product comments were very encouraging, so I made the purchase.I cannot describe the excitement I felt as soon as my fingers touched it to pull it out of the plastic. It was real! It wasn't paper, nor was it cloth. I can best describe it as really thick rice paper. It is somewhat stiff as if it is really old, and it crackled when I unrolled it (very carefully). This is definately not one for a child to play with, more for putting in a frame (if you can part yourself from it).Some may complain about the red Quest-line being inaccurate. It doesn't bother me so much. Every single map I've ever seen has the same inaccuracies, so unless you want to spend hundreds, thousands, to get a set-prop, this is a very, very fine map, one which is no loss at all for the price. It's almost a steal, actually, in my humble opinion, and I can't wait to get it framed so I can show it off.

This is a beautiful poster. The paper has a crinkly, parchment-like quality...It looks authentic and is worth the price of getting it framed. Great value for the price. I got it for my boyfriend because he always wanted a Middle Earth map, and I didn't want to settle for a typical glossy poster. Great gift for a LotR fan!

I thought this would be a cheap, reproduction map... boy was I wrong! This item was a work of art. Hand drawn with incredibly detail and obvious care. This was a huge bargain price for a museum-quality map. My brother said it was the best gift he has ever received, which was the cherry on top of this deal Thanks so much!

Das Poster ist wirklich fantastisch und ich bin mega begeistert. Die Qualität ist wahnsinnig gut. Man hat wirklich das Gefühl man hält eine Karte aus Pergament in den Händen, obwohl man absolut keine Angst haben muss, das sie einem jeden Moment zerreist. Das Material scheint sehr robust. Die Lieferung ging sehr schnell und es kam gut verpackt, ohne jegliche Macken bei mir an.Der eingezeichnete Weg, den Frodo & Sam durch Mittelerde zurück gelegt haben, ist für jeden Lord-of-the-Rings Fan einfach ein toller Zusatz. Er ist zwar rot aber sehr fein nachgezeichnet, sodass es im Gesamtbild überhaupt nicht störend, sondern genau richtig ist.Das Poster hängt jetzt über meinem Bett und ich bin wirklich schwer verleibt.Ein richtiger Blickfang!

Charming map, printed with good quality on a paper which gives it a further good, ancient feel. Would recommend it.

Sieht aus wie eine alte Pergamentzeichnung, gut gemacht und trotzdem haltbar. Naja, man hängt sie auf, von daher weiß ich nicht, wie strapazierfähig sie ist, wenn man sie täglich auf- und einrollt :) aber für meine Zwecke völlig ausreichend.
