Excellent value. Blaze orange color means you won't lose this knife in the woods
I almost lost a Kershaw Storm while out working in the woods. Fortunately I found it after some searching, but it took awhile. I saw this blaze orange knife on Amazon and ordered it. After receiving it I immediately put it to use. Here are some pros and con to consider:PROS1. The zytel handles (no metal liners) make it very light. Nubs molded into the handles make it grippy.2. The blaze orange color makes it difficult to lose.3. The build quality is very good for a $20 knife.4. The knife is strong enough for light to medium cutting chores.5. Lock-up is tight and solid with no blade play in any direction.6. The pocket clip is very tight...almost too tight.7. AUS8a is a solid mid-tier steel. Unbeatable at this price point.8. The knife came shaving sharp from the factory.CONS1. One handed deployment is difficult. I would not use this as a tactical knife.2. Thumb stud is one on side only (set for right hand carry). The stud is swichable, but Ka-Bar really could have spent an extra 5 cents to put a stud on both sides. For a utility/outdoors/EDC knife that you won't mind using and abusing, it is an incredible value. Buy it...now.

Great Potential for BOB/Kit, Backup Pocket Hunter
This little Ka-Bar will probably go into my BOB or smaller survival kit, but it would also be a very decent backup to a primary hunting knife and a fine addition to a tackle box. Solid, sharp, with bright colored handle scales for easy location in low light. Great value for the money. Have yet to put it to the test, but when one has many knives from which to choose for any particular outing, it can take a while to get around to each of them. I expect it to pull its share of the load when called upon.Post script: This is not a bad gardening knife, along with its other potential uses. Used it to harvest a number of crook-neck squashes off the vine before the frost killed the parent plant. Granted, that's not a really demanding job - many a kitchen knife would be up to it, but the Dozier was a nice size to get in there between the leaves and stalks and zip through the vines with ease and liberate the little gourds at their peak of flavor.

Bought 8 Years Ago, My Favorite Knife of all Times
Update: I have now owned this knife for 8 years and it’s still going strong. Included a picture to show how much the black has come off the blade and clip after 8 years of every day use. I like the orange handle because it makes the knife easier to see if I accidentally drop it or set it down somewhere. I only wish they made a knife with the orange handle and a silver (no paint) blade.I own several other pocket knives and this one is by far my favorite. I bought this knife 5 years ago on Amazon and it still works great. My only complaint (which other reviews have mentioned) is the black coating on the blade has started to come off after use but only than that, this is still my favorite knife. It folds and unfolds with ease. I carry this around everyday and it gets used a look. I cut open boxes, cut zip ties, cut rope, wire and even use to pray stuff open which you should never do. This blade keeps a sharp edge for a long time and a minute or so on the stropping leather and it's razor sharp. Some of the other things I like about it even over my more expensive knives is it's thin profile and light weight. When its in you pocket you almost forget that its there. Also, I like how easy it is to open, I can usually pop it open with a quick push of my thumb. If this knife ever breaks which I'm surprised it hasn't yet with all the abuse I gave throughout the years I'm going to buy the some one again. Maybe the blue handle with the silver blade.

Good utilitarian work blade
It came fairly sharp, but sharpened really well. It is pretty stiff opening with the thumb stud. But it does open easily with the flick of the wrist. So far it carries well with the pocket. Not sure the pocket clip will stay on it so far it hasn’t hung on anything. I cleaned one deer with it. Held a good edge all the way through the process. At first I didn’t think much it wasn’t what I expected from K bar, but it is actually pretty robust time will tell.

BEST CHEAP KNIFE EVER
This is my second purchase of this utility pocket knife; I lost the first one on a camping trip. First was black, hunter orange isn’t easily overlooked in the woods. The blade takes a good edge and holds it. It’s no solingen steel blade, but is great for the price. The blacking on the blade comes off fairly easy with normal use but I purchased it because I used the previous one daily for years. This really is a great pocket utility knife. One review complained that the blade was too stiff to open. That can be adjusted with a star bit and lithium grease. If you want a knife that will work as bad as you and not let you down, buy this one. If you want a collectors knife that’s never gets used, then save a lot more money to buy something else.

The BEST EDC knife money can buy
I have owned 4 of these now. Why do I have 4? Because I have 3 sons and when they each came to visit I gave them mine and kept replacing it. Thankfully I only have 3 sons! Honest this is a fabulous every day carry knife. I always have mine on me and I’m always using it. It is super easy to keep sharp. It came sharp from KaBar but I made it even sharper and now about once every 2-3 weeks I spend less than 2 minutes removing burrs and making it nice and sharp again. I love opening my mail every day with it because it’s so sharp it just slicks through envelopes like butter. But it is rugged too. I have gut a deer and fillet some fish including a gar and if you don’t know, gar is a really hard fish to clean. This knife is also my go-to steak knife. Even in restaurants!
