Great book on a genre of film that has received little serious attention. Stevenson combines excellent and entertaining analysis of the films with a thoughtful cultural history that beautifully places them in context.

European Cinema, during the 1960's and the 1970's, sexploitation films, that were released in europe, andrarely released in the U.S., and if they were, they were "Cut" to shreds, leaving out some of the goodparts.  Having a book such as "Scandinavian Blue", which gives an insight into what thousand of cinema fansmissed, until, BETA, and VHS, and now DVD's came along, and you are able to track down movie titles youonly heard about - and now being able to watch, and enjoy.  finding out that certain actresses from theUS went to europe and appeared in foreign films, and sometimes appeared nude, wow.this book is a must have for anyone interested in Swedish films.
