Knickerbocker iSlats™ - Steel Bed Slats - Bed Frame Center Support System (Queen) - Slats Only

After listening to my wife lament the demise of our comfortable bed, I decided to do something about it. The bed frame had a cracked and sagging slat support rail. Found this Knickerbocker iSlats and decided it might be exactly what was needed. Everything in this product description is completely accurate, it works perfectly. All parts were included in the box and assembled quickly with excellent directions. It is AMAZING what a difference it made to the entire bed. It is like having a brand new mattress again. Apparently the wooden slats had been doing a lousy job for a long time before the rail finally cracked. The mattress and box spring sit three inches higher and stays rock solid once you lay down. If you have low spots or valleys in your sleep surface, this might be all you need. I am completely satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to everyone.

Very sturdy item. I attached it to my metal bed frame which has no center support. Had to tape down instead of screwing the sides in. Easy to put together but it’s better to get someone else to help out.

Easy to install and great support for the bed! We didn’t realize the bed was sagging until we felt the difference after we installed it. I’m so glad we got this instead of the other options!

Received product and was missing screws to attach middle support to outer bars as well as the screws to attach to bed frame.Update: contacted seller who sent out missing parts quickly. Nice product and customer service overall, however not sure if it requires a box spring b/c it doesn't say that, only that it replaces the wooden slats. Well the mattress falls through the edges between the supports. With only this support system and no box spring I will have to salvage the old slats from the bed to support the matress in the middle, head and foot ends.

We have two full size beds with slats. One bed was much higher quality than the other. I was surprised to see the difference in quality with respect to the slats was so noticeable as I installed the support systems. The other night we went and purchased two new mattresses. After that, my support systems arrived and I wanted to get them installed ahead of the mattress delivery. I started with the bed with a "dip" in the center. I though the mattress was junk (although it wasn't cheap), but what was junk/cheap was the slat system on the bed. As soon as I pulled the mattress off, I could see how they warped, and the extreme points were at the dip. So, I installed the system and used the same slats. The mattress no longer had the dip - visually or when you lay on it. It is solid now. The second bed wasn't as extreme, and the slats were almost perfectly level although you could see a slight dip in that mattress. There likely was some give in the slats, but nothing extreme.The system installation is very easy. I did both without any assistance, although a second set of hands would have been helpful. Total install time is probably between 30-60 minutes (add 10-15 for getting tools and unboxing). The second one took longer, only because I trimmed the underside of two slats to allow for flush mounting of the support rails. I'm not sure I needed to do this, but while I had everything pulled apart, the extra 10-15 minutes were worth it.Also, after installing the system I went and cancelled the new mattress purchase for the first bed. With the dip gone and proper support under the mattress, I should be able to get a few more years out of it. That alone saved $750 on the mattress I just purchased - and had I not bought this system, a new mattress would have had the same problem. In truth, I likely could have done better slats as well on that bed, but even if I did that, I still wouldn't put in slat supported bed without this system.

We bought our first Knickerbocker bed frames when we got marries 12 years ago, and they look as good as the day we bought them- even with all the kids jumping on the bed and putting them to the test. (Wish I could say the same for myself).These guys make extremely durable products, which is why we were so excited to see their iSlat solution- absolutely brilliant! It was fast shipping, simple set up guidance, and great solution! Here's to another 12 years!
