First time sourdough starter and this jar made it easy for me to see what was going on as well as to know how and when to feed my starter. Love the airtight lid when having to put starter in fridge for a few days but can also leave lid partially closed for when it sits on the counter.

My new Bormioli Fido Rocco 28 oz sealing jar is the perfect size. Made in Italy, and seals really well. I will be using this for my sourdough starter and needed a really strong seal, and a large enough jar for the starter when it rises. I didn’t know the gasket is only good for a single use. Don’t quite know what that means since I will be opening it weekly to feed and use. Shrug 🤷‍♀️. Maybe if someone is canning…… Beautifully made and highly recommend.

Bought this item specifically to use for sourdough starter. Pro: large opening, easy to clean. Con specifically for my needs: lid doesn’t rest on top without sealing it like I needed it to for let the starter breathe. I was able however to use a rubber band and paper towel instead. The lid (having to stay all the way off) makes it take up more space on my counter as well so something to consider if counter space is more limited like in an apartment. Before beginning my starter I did try to close the solid fully and was able to latch it and unseal quite easily. Overall 4.5 stars. I will continue to use it in my kitchen.

This works perfectly for sourdough starter.

Perfect for my fresh ground coffee and the seal is good and air tight. When I pop it open the entire room is filled with a robust coffee scent.

Solid great jar.. I really appreciate it being square with wide mouth for pouring into it. And it’s height makes it easy to fit on any shelf in the fridge.. Thank you
