NDS 3P05 PVC S&D Coupling, 3-Inch, Hub X Hub Connection, for use with 3-Inch Sewer and Drain Pipe, White

With so many reviews on Amazon giving 1 star because "It's too small": This fitting is properly called "NDS 3P05". It is the correct size for this type of pipe fitting. It IS NOT too small. Know what type and size pipe you are working with before you make a purchase. 1. SDR-35, Triple Wall, & ASTM D-2729 pipe - this fits. 2. Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 - this does not fit. Measure your pipe: If the OD of your pipe is 3 1/4" - this fits. If the OD of your pipe is 3 1/2" - this DOES NOT fit. In the images I have shown: 1. The respective sizes of the different types of coupling. 2. The coupling attached to the proper size drain pipe (3 1/4"). 3. This is the adapter which converts the S&D pipe to the Schedule 40 pipe. They are not compatible without the adapter. Other complaints: It's too flimsy- No, it is not. This is designed for non-pressure drain pipe only. It does the job perfectly for its intended purpose. The Internet is full of confusion and mis-information about pipe types, sizes, and uses. My summary here cost me many hours of research. Hope it helps.

They are marked 3” which should measure 3.5” id per the std pvc pipe size chart.. both the original and the replacement couplings measure 3-1/4” 3.25” which does not match any pipe size listed on the us pvc pipe size chart.. maybe a metric .. have no idea..

This item does not connect two 3 inch PVC pipes as advertised. The item is the same size as the pipes, thus the pipes can not fit inside the item to connect. Product descriptions for PVC parts leaves a great deal to be desired. Buying parts here is actually harder than just getting in the car to drive to the store.

I inadvertently bought several of these thinking they were for 3" sch. 40 PVC. Nope, they're for ABS pipe. These won't even come close to fitting PVC pipe. Unfortunately, I had to wait for the 7 connectors to arrive in three different shipments and waited over a month for the last two. Never opened them beforehand, as I needed all 7 for my repair. Is a very good thing I happened to find some used ones on older pipe that had never been glued! Outside temps while making repairs were around -32F. Was fortunate to get our grey-water drain line repaired using old fittings. I hope the seller will remove from their listing the line that reads, "We also carry schedule 40 adaptors", as that line made me think I was buying PVC connectors. ...Also, you spelled adapters wrong.
