Your definitive guide to the basics of trigonometry Whether you are new to trigonometry or just need to refresh your knowledge, Trigonometry--A Complete Introduction is the ideal handbook of this complex subject. Offering a complete introduction, with fully worked examples and carefully paced exercises at every level, you will progress steadily from the basics to more advanced skills and gain new confidence in your abilities. One, five and ten-minute introductions to key principles to get you started Lots of instant help with common problems and quick tips for success, based on the author’s many years of experience. Tests in the book to keep track of your progress Questions accompanied by detailed answers which help you to identify your areas of strength and weakness Review: Closer to 5 stars, but maddening question phrasing at times - Great organization and pace to the book. Explanations are generally effective. There are some questions with phrasing susceptible to more than one interpretation, completely unclear, or requiring assumptions, such as referring to sin and cos of two angles but not being told explicitly they are adjacent angles. Overall it's still a great book. Review: Simple to follow - Easy to read. Haven't finished the book yet, but so far it's a good refresher.

Learning lots.
I know most of us forget trig, which is high school math. I barely remember anything about trig from high school myself. I am only two chapters into this book and it has allowed me figure out how to code a pretty interesting system in 3D space. And there's more to come that will probably make it even better.

Methods for calculating trig values
The book overall was great, provided you have a calculator. I was looking for a refresher on periodic functions, so this definitely did the trick. The one additional thing I would have liked to see was iterative methods for calculating sine and cosine values. In other words, when the calculator presents the sine of an angle, how did it arrive at that number?

A good starter book for beginners. Not good for referencing.
I bought this to brush up and reference. It covers the basics fairly quickly. But the writing uses some inaccurate terminology. Like referring to the Pythagorean Identity as "Pythagoras's Theorem." Though they are related, the theorem and identity are conceptually different. The book is cheap enough and gets the main idea across if you want a basic understanding before tackling a college course like precalc.
