The back of the package of mine states "pen made in Indonesia, Refill made in Japan". However do NOT buy this pen. Buy the F-701. The X-701 is twice the price, but half the quality, of the F-701. Also refills for the X-701 are expensive and hard to get. F-Refills are inexpensive and plentiful.

Is there an option for a blue ink refill for the X-701?

Hi. Not that I’m aware of. There’s only black ink refills.

Does anyone else find the X701 BP to write very dry ?

Yes, Zebra makes great products but this one sucks on many levels

what does one do to write with this? push something? turn something? where is the tactical end?

You just push the clicker on top, like a regular pen. It is military grade drop tested. I have accidentally dropped mine on concrete and it is still working! All of my other pens including my Fishers are not military drop certified! On the description is states that it is 5 times more durable than plastic pens, I agree! I have been using my pen daily since October 21st and it has yet to fail me. I sign Bills of Lading and other documents with it and not once has it stopped writing! The only thing I do not like and I have contacted Zebra, is that the black finish is chipping off in places. I highly recommend this pen as a everyday use pen!
