I have really kinky hair. If you believe in hair typing, I’d fall around a 4C. A relative recommended a similar product line and said it worked well, but I noticed you get much less product, about two ounces, compared to this line, which includes a larger amount plus a generous clarifying shampoo. If you have a lot of hair or thick hair, you’d likely run out quickly and spend more overall. I usually go to the salon and spend hundreds of dollars, but I was in a pinch and decided to try this. My relative mentioned the other brand had a strong smell, which made me think of ingredients commonly found in some treatments, so I chose this formaldehyde-free option instead. I appreciated how simple the instructions were. Some treatments involve too many steps, washing, blow-drying, applying product, then repeating the process. With kinky hair, that much manipulation is not ideal. This process was straightforward and easy to follow. The clarifying shampoo worked extremely well. Because I had several products on my hair, I shampooed three times, and my hair felt completely clean afterward. I applied the treatment, followed the directions, and achieved results that felt salon quality. My hair blow-dried beautifully and came out very straight. The products also smelled good. The mask stood out in particular. I would purchase it on its own because it left my hair exceptionally soft and shiny. The shine was honestly salon level. My only observation is that I purchased the formula for fine to medium hair, while my hair is more medium to coarse. When I looked back, I realized they offered a version designed for my hair type. I would choose that one next time. A small reminder that product descriptions deserve more attention than most of us give them.

I tried it today and I’m incredibly happy with the results!! My expectations weren’t for this to straighten my hair, just loosen my 4a curls in the back of my head. The front curls are already looser (3a/3c) from straightening with heat so I wanted to blend them and help with my styling routine of always having to stretch the curls in the back to match the length of the rest of my hair when curly (when straight, it’s all one length). I bought the clarifying shampoo and mask and used as directed but left the pieces out that didn’t need it. I blowdried all of my hair with my regular comb attachment, not a brush, to activate the treatment and straightened (at 390 degrees). I didn’t do a meticulous job straightening since this was my first time using this product and didn’t want heat damage. I basically just went over my hair 2-3 times, really quickly, focusing mainly just on the hair I wanted stretched. I didn’t straighten as I would if I was actually styling my hair. I immediately washed afterwards and styled as usual. The hair in the back now matches the front and I gained a full inch to 1.5 inches in the back!! I will say there is slight smell. Smells like carpet that’s been freshly vacuumed when you have a pet. It’s not terribly strong but it’s there. I’m hoping it will wash out with time but for me it’s worth it for the benefit it provided on my hair. I use strong smelling products so that helps. I’ll probably be more meticulous with straightening next time I use this to see how it really works but thought it best to err on the side of caution for the first use. The frizz is still there but my hair is incredibly frizzy to begin with and I didn’t use it exactly as directed. Hope this review helps! UPDATE: The smell fades after about 5 washes (I did use a sulfate shampoo a couple times even though you’re not supposed to). Nearly a month later, my curls still look great and styling is so much easier which saves me a lot of time!

Worked so beautifully, omg ✨ and saved me $300+ at the salon. The pictures don’t do justice to how soft, shiny and silky my hair feels. My “hair type” is 4b/4c and I used almost half of the bottle, probably used too much but the results are just like at the salon. I followed the instructions: washed my hair >> applied the treatment and wore a shower cap over it for 40 minutes >> rinsed >> applied the hair mask for 10 minutes >> rinse off >> blow dry >> straighten. Flat ironing took the longest time for me because I’m not used to it but overall, this process took me about 3 hours. I have to say that the hair mask is amazing with really good slip. After I applied the treatment, my hair was so soft and smooth, even before I applied the hair mask!! 10/10. The shampoo is huge lol. Will be buying this again

This was a great product, my hair is 2B/2C waves, and becomes super frizzy and unruly in the summer despite all my curly routine efforts. but after doing this routine one time I’ve noticed my hair being significantly less frizzy and seeming to retain moisture and softness much better. It also didn’t change my curl texture or pattern after the straightening process. Definitely recommend for the summer if you don’t wan to worry about styling your hair all the time!!

I had really high hopes for this treatment, but unfortunately it didn’t deliver at all. After following the instructions carefully, my hair still came out frizzy and didn’t straighten in the slightest. Instead of feeling smooth or silky, it actually felt drier than before, which was really disappointing. I was expecting at least some reduction in frizz or easier manageability, but there was no noticeable improvement. If anything, my hair felt more brittle and harder to style afterward. For the time and effort this process takes, I don’t think the results are worth it. Overall, this product did not work for my hair type and I wouldn’t repurchase.

On day one, I was extremely happy with the result, looked exactly how it previously looked when I had it professionally done. I liked that the scent was fairly mild and did not burn my eyes or nose, as I have read others do. I wasn't sure of the sizes of the bottles that came with the kit, but they are quite large and will last for multiple treatments. The clarifying shampoo is a huge bottle - 32oz and I don't know how I will ever use that much. At some point, I may need to order more of the smoothing treatment (the teal bottle), but it will definitely last for multiple treatments. So far, it has taken off 10-15 minutes of blow drying my hair which was my main goal. My hair is wavy and I still blow dry it with a round brush and then a bit of flat ironing. It won't be naturally straight after the treatment however, it has reduced any frizz. I only gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1) It's only been about a week, and I don't know how long it will last overall. 2) I've washed my hair 3x so far and right when my hair gets under the warm shower water, it gives a strange scent. Not horrible, but a little weird (Reminds me of burnt garlic toast or something like that). Once it is dry again, it does not smell like that. Kind of like how a wet dog smells off, until dry.
