The Hidden L-Bracket is a granite bracket countertop support for those individuals looking for a little more support for their counter tops. As you can see from the photos this granite bracket attaches in the same manner as our Knee Wall Bracket but adds an additional 6” vertical tang for additional support. This additional support comes in handy when you have an overhang on a bar top that is deeper than the standard 12” or that is very long and will be seating 4 or more people. The hidden L granite bracket countertop support is also helpful when installing a granite top on a kitchen island or standard cabinets when there is no knee wall. In these situations like this simple install a 2 x 4 to the inside back wall of the cabinet, route or chisel out the pocket so the granite bracket sits flush and then attach the bracket to the 2 x 4.

Two nice pieces of steel poorly welded together
I mounted the 24" bracket to the wall and pushed down on it to test the firmness. It bent at the weld, and when I pulled it back up, it broke off in my hand. Seriously? Does anyone make anything right the first time anymore? Upon closer inspection, I noticed two things: 1) The weld on the inside of the angle was only contiguous about half way across the part and the it was spotty to none the rest of the way, and 2) there was no weld at all on the outside elbow of the part. This allowed the joint to bend with mere hand pressure. I'm not sure if this was a defective part or if they just make them that poorly. I didn't have time to wait... I took it out to my shop and welded it up properly, and it works fine. Before all of this happened, I ordered an 18" bracket for the same job. We'll see what it looks like when it comes in.Follow up: I received the second bracket. It was welded outside and inside the joint. The outside weld was nicely finished so it bolts to the wall squarely. I can only assume the first bracket I received was defective. The second one worked fine.

They are built like gorillas and are extra thick
Much bulkier than I thought. We are going to have to reinforce the pony wall they are attaching to in order to support the brackets. They are built like gorillas and are extra thick.
