Looking to save water? Here it is.
I noticed a fairly significant difference between this and my old shower head (I assume it was a 2.5 to 3.5 gpm don't really know)...but it was expected...after all it's a low flow shower head...at 1.5 gpm its one of the lowest flows out there as a matter of fact. This product is well built and will definitely save on the water bill. What I really, really like about this shower head is the push button to turn the shower spray to just a trickle so one can lather up, shave, etc... any shower head i get in the future will definitely have this feature. Okay...back to the shower. I liken it to drinking whole milk all your life then switching to 2% milk (for health reasons or whatever). You do initially taste a difference but in no time the 2% tastes "normal"...its the same here. I purchased and installed this shower head about 2 weeks ago and now I have a new "normal" for my showers. I guess I'm saying if you are initially less than impressed with its performance...give it a chance...use it for a week then evaluate. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. Why 4 stars? I'm somewhat stingy (or getting that way) with passing out 5 stars.

Does what it claims
I bought this shower head and a few others to test for use to save water. I actually did a scientific review by installing each shower head in turn and running them on a standard shower run collecting everything in a 5 gallon bucket held under the shower head for 2 minutes. I then compared the shower heads and measured how much water they actually put out in the 2 minutes. This shower head does what it claims. It put out actually a little less than 1.5 gpm and had a fair force to it. It did not aerate that much, so you can turn down the temp too saving more money by saving some hot water. Because the force is not that strong, it takes a little longer to wash off, and I wouldn't recommend it for someone with a lot of hair. Overall, it does what it claims.

Tiny water heater - Finally a hot shower that lasts more than 5 minutes
The water heater at my apartment is small. And when I say small, I mean small. When I took a shower, the hot water would last probably only about 5 minutes, but if I was lucky, and it wasn't cold outside, I could stretch it to maybe about 8 - 10 minutes if I turned off the water to lather up and such. Even then, I never made it through a full shower without having to finish in the cold. Needless to say, it was a real pain in the butt, and I couldn't enjoy my showers at all. They were just a race to get clean before I got frozen out of the shower by cold water. After researching solutions to the problem, I found that a low pressure showerhead would be my best option. The Ultra Saver Showerhead 1.5 GPM was recommended in an article I read, and it was super cheap, so I decided to give it a try.My first shower after installing the showerhead was more than I had every hoped for out of my teacup sized water heater. I was actually trying to run the hot water out to see how long I would have before I was blasted with cold, but the hot water never ended. 30 mins into it, completely showered at my leisure and without having to freeze to death, the water was still piping hot. Amazing! Brilliant! No more ice cold showers. No more rushing around or having to shave with cold water. I'm overjoyed. I couldn't have asked for anything better.Features I absolutely adore:- Greatly extends the time it takes to run out of hot water- Has a flow disruption button to reduce the flow of water when I don't need it running at full speed (which extends the hot water even more!)- Easy to install (except one small thing. see below)Features that are tolerable, but could be better:- The water pressure is definitely lower, so it takes longer to rinse off and to get the shampoo and especially conditioner out of my hair. This makes my showers take a little longer than normal, but it's fully worth it in my opinion.- Note to those with lots of hair: My hair is relatively thin, but if you have long, really thick hair, you might need something with a little more pressure.- The rubber washer included with the showerhead for installation was too thick, so the showerhead wouldn't screw onto the pipe. After trimming the washer with scissors, though, it went on just fine. No leaks or anything that I can see, so far.

Ultra Low Flow Shower Head decent but not great
I purchased this item because I want to practice conservation with all of the utilities that come into my home. It was packaged well, arrived as promised and was easy to install. As a showerhead, I like it just fine. The water does not really stream out of the showerhead, it is more like a really heavy mist with an acceptable spray pattern. The wife doesn't like it because it doesn't put as much water out as she's used to. That does not affect my rating, after all, it's supposed to be an ultra low flow showerhead.I chose only a 3 rating because of its other feature. There is a button that slides back and forth to start and stop the flow of water, located just above the head and below the swivel. When it is in the flow position, all is good. When it is in the stop flow position, water leaks out from around the button and sprays on the wall. I did not feel like sending the item back, so I just turn off the water at the mixing valve instead of at the showerhead button.

Good product for the money but on/off valve leaks
I'm using this to replace the lousy "high flow" head on the outdoor shower on our travel trailer. Because this Whedon head is more restrictive (less GPM), it provides a more useful spray pattern, given the limited water flow that goes to this outdoor shower. The problem is that the shutoff valve on the head leaks, which for me isn't a big deal because the hot and cold rotating valves are handy, which I can turn on and off when needed. I'm guessing that I received a unit that is out of dimensional tolerance somewhere, or the internal valve seal wasn't installed properly or is defective. Overall it's a nice improvement over what came with the trailer, so I'm satisfied (especially when price is considered).
