The whole reason I bought these was because my dog breaks out easily and the friction from the prongs were starting to cause bumps. However, I wasn't thinking when I bought it that there will be one "ring" on the collar with no rubber tips because I can't get it on and off the dog with the rubber tips on. For reference, I have the kind of collar that does not have a buckle- you squeeze the prongs together to get them in and out of the slot to get it on and off the dog, and it's 3.25 mm. The tips fit great however.

Happy with my purchase, though they're a bit thinner and longer than the product photo shows.My 80lb gsd/pit mix used to pull against his collars a ton on walks and would stress himself out but after introducing the HS prong collar (properly fitted) hes relaxed a ton and great on leash, he is still reactive to other dogs if they pass closely but I have a harness with a handle on him for those instances instead of letting him pull against the prong.He has a medium coat without much undercoat but I havent encountered any scabs or skin issues mentioned by other reviewers, I just got these to make it a bit less harsh since he has been minding it well.For me its been a bonus that they prevent the links from coming undone easily, since I got the quick release collar, but its always safer to have a backup slip collar attached to the leash as well just in case the prong comes undone.I have the Large, 3.2mm, 23-Inch Herm Sprenger quick release collar and ordered the 3.0mm covers, they fit nicely and snug.

They keep my American Bulldogs’ neck from getting red with the HS Reverse prong Training collar I use on walks. He has white thin fur and sensitive skin. These prong covers keep his thin skin from being irritated.

In certain situations, we have to put a control collar on our dog. I didn't really "understand" them at first, but now that I know how to use them, they are very helpful. Still, I didn't like the idea of the metal prongs digging into my dog's neck, so I got these caps. I like them, but they don't all stay on. The number you're going to lose will vary with the frequency of use of the collar. Fortunately, there are 30 on the pack. Not sure how to avoid this happening. You can't glue them or you won't be able to adjust the number of links in the collar. Or, maybe you could. I have such a hard time trying to add/remove links, I didn't want to risk it.

We have a lab/pointer, 11 mos old, and she is strong. When she gets excited, she pulls on the leash hard, so we use a pinch collar. She was getting scabs from the prongs, so I looked for rubber tips for prong collar, and I found several. Amazon had the best. These were cheap, quickly delivered, and now the dog will be restrained with no broken skin. I’ll try to remember to update the review if they fall off.

I have a year old pitbull Rottweiler mix and her neck sensitive to the prong collar but she is so strong she needs to wear it. I have to have a quick release prong collar because I’m unable to squeeze the prongs together to release the regular collar so now that I have found these caps her skin tolerates it better and I get to keep the quick release collar!

Bought 2 styles of prong covers & ended up keeping& using these as the others had a sharp seam at the tip.1 of my Alaskan Malamutes is a rescue & when we got him he had throat damage, was unable to talk, sing or bark. All that came out was a hoarse, raw sound.Thankfully this did heal & improve several months later, but any time he gets too much pressure on his throat it creates problems for him with hoarseness & difficulty swallowing.When he's especially reactive these comfort tips help me to keep him controlled without further harming him!

Got these since my dog still on occasionally pulls on his prong. It keeps his hair from getting tangled and ripped out too which is a big plus because his mane was starting to bald. The pa algae comes with way more than I needed so if for some reason one breaks or falls off (doubtful cuz they’re snug and great quality) then I have back up to replace them.
