This is a great book for elementary classrooms and is perfect for my first grade classroom. I wish I would have used this book starting in the beginning of the year!

The poems are great, but the age range and skill set is too broad. I can only use about half the poems. :(

This is a must-have poetry book for teachers. There are poems for holidays and special occasions, and even thematic poetry. Maria Fleming has done a great job of adding activities for each poem. The layout is great-- ready to read or make a transperancy for a class read along.

Reads more like a workbook, than a fun textbook or collection of poems.
